Jill Biden approval lower than Joe's

At 34%, her approval is not only lower than Joe's but also lower than several of her First Lady predecessors.

 
Oh, boy, this is going to hurt her chances of reelection.

The left were quite enthused about Jill becoming First Lady. Some were convinced she'd be an AMAZING First Lady.
I think it's been beyond odd that the White House seems to be all but closed. Virtually no nice state dinners and televised greetings at the front door with foreign leaders. They might say it's all because of covid, but I don't buy it. Events have resumed in the world while the White House has remained virtually closed. I think they have no confidence Joe could make it through an evening dinner with flowing conversation.

Jill's approval dropped significantly after likening latinos to "breakfast tacos" last week.

The National Association of Hispanic Journalists gave Jill a proper scolding:

"NAHJ encourages [Jill Biden] & her communications team to take time to better understand the complexities of our people & communities. We are not tacos. Our heritage as Latinos is shaped by various diasporas, cultures & food traditions. Do not reduce us to stereotypes.

It's so odd speech writers thought that a good thing to put in the speech and (obviously) Jill had practiced that speech yet not insisted that part be changed. Completely clueless all the way around.

Seriously. She’s the First Lady. It it’s totally irrelevant whether Trump cultists like her....or anyone, for that matter.

Of those who have an opinion more favour her than don't. Most are unsure and I can see why. She gets very little coverage of what she does daily to serve veterans' families, help children with educational challenges, etc. Whose fault is that? She is not one to seek the spotlight, the Dems are lousy at messaging and the media are focused on other things. WH galas usually garner points for First Ladies but could you just imagine the press that would get these days! Crappy job, with crappy pay!

Most people either admire the First Lady or ignore her.

In other words, the First Lady & the First Children are usually off limits to criticism.

For example, some people admired the First Lady of the 44th President while others regretted some of her speeches on supposedly being mistreated in her life.

Dr. Biden seems OK. Maybe she could raise her popularity if she would avoid all controversial comments and stick to having tea parties at the White House and wearing beautiful clothes on formal occasions.
