It's Mid-November and we now have TWO VACCINES. Trump kept another promise.

There are two announced, another half dozen near final testing and 40 or more around the world close behind. What has Trumpy's bloviation to do with any of them?

That's right folks. Trump's efforts at "Operation Warp Speed" have proven effective,

A week or so ago Pfizer announced their vaccine successes:

Now Moderna announces their vaccine success:

What did Trump say? "We are looking to get a vaccine by end of year, maybe before..."

That was back in May 2020. Of course talking heads in the media, and "science experts" scoffed, and Trump's own medical "advisors" warned him against being so optimistic.

Basically the whole "establishment" said he was making another promise he could not keep.

Our "Usual Suspects" in this Forum joined that bandwagon, and even when Pfizer first announced, these same Members were quick to assert "This had NOTHING to do with Trump's 'warp speed.'"

I can't wait to see the posts to follow explaining how Trump was still "wrong" and how credit for this "speedy process" should be given elsewhere. :coffee:
We might have two or more vaccines for general distribution by the Spring--IOW just about the timeline predicted by Fauci and others for the earlier timeline. We have information about efficacy but the safety questions may not be answered for another few months. It might be approved sooner than that for medical personnel and first responders considering that they are indispensable and are at high risk. I hear that the Cult of Dirtbag wants to name the vaccine after Dirtbag and I'd be happy to support that as long was we also name the virus after him.

Well if you listened to the debate we should have been having the vaccine distributed weeks ago. He does nothing but lie, and his brain dead cultists eat it up.

One great thing about the vaccine is that much of this is built from the attempts to make an AIDS and H1N1 vaccine over the last 10 years.

I'm on a video call with an exec that works on this, there is a lot of good news out there....

That statement is false. If you differ, provide a link from the media.

Trump has not met with the Covid task force in five months, and you want to give credit to Trump instead of the task force and the scientists who came up with the vaccines. That's nuts.

Your lack of understanding of what is going on is showing. On the other hand, that is quite typical of Trump's followers. They are very much uninformed. Too busy working in the fields, I guess.

Here is a quote from the article you referenced...

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, recently said it’s “within the realm of possibility” to have a vaccine widely available by January, but only if drug companies are willing to assume the risk of beginning to ramp up production of the vaccine before it is fully tested and approved.

Clearly, Facuci said it was possible that it would be "widely available." Is it widely available yet? The experts said it wouldn't be widely available until 2021. It seems they were correct. So, the entire premise of your post is false.

Moreover, every country has fast-tracked vaccine development. China and Russia both have a vaccine. You're giving Trump a lot of credit for doing what any president would do.

And your claims of inflated COVID deaths are just embarrassing. Please do your research into excess deaths by country. A lot more people have started dying this year than last year. That can't be explained by doctors claiming COVID deaths when the patient would have died of other causes. You're just not very bright if you can't do a bit of research and figure that out.

Trump lied to the country about the virus. He downplayed it. He failed to encourage people to take preventative measures. He held superspreader rallies. He pushed away experts and surrounded himself with quacks. He claimed doctors were faking COVID deaths. That's what history will remember about Donald Trump. He was thoroughly incompetent.

The vaccines are not yet available as there are more loopholes to jump over = how safe are these prototypes?

He encouraged the duped to resist intelligent prevention measures, spread kooky nonsense, tried to force everything open too early, tried to incite the nutter component of his cult to action, defunded the WHO, defunded PREDICT, and dissolved the pandemic response team, for a start. And yeah, he did. He completely ****ed up. Luckily, he lost.

The "intelligent prevention messures" didn't slow the virus, much less spread it.

You can't. It's not widely available yet just as the experts predicted. The OP is totally false.

The vaccine exists. It's having to go through the red tape to get approved.

Did we socialism our way to some vaccines?

lol

I guess I forgot to use the sarcasm font. :)

I got that you were being sarcastic. I was just agreeing with you. No vaccine is currently available. The OP makes no sense.

Even if you read the OPs links you see that Fauci and others didn't believe the vaccine would be "widely available" this year. They were right. The OP is wrong.

Wipe off your chin.

Trump kept his promise, and blames Pfizer and Moderna for his election loss. Those two vaccines are expected towards the end of the year, not in November.

Nearly every American is pleased with the successes of the various vaccine companies, and it appears the effectiveness of the vaccines is very high.

I said nearly every American.

One American is very displeased with the vaccine companies -- our President.

The Independent reports, "Donald Trump has accused Pfizer and Moderna of working to stop his re-election by delaying their Covid vaccines."

“Pfizer and others were way ahead on vaccines, you wouldn’t have a vaccine if it wasn’t me for another four years,” he said.

“Pfizer and others even decided to not assess the results of their vaccine, in other words not come out with the vaccine, until just after the election,” Trump added.

Tell me something. Why do you make a complete fool of yourself by supporting a jerk? Does it have something to do with intellectual capacity?

How is Operation Warp Speed being funded?
Congress has directed almost $10 billion to this effort through supplemental funding, including the CARES Act. Congress has also appropriated other flexible funding. The almost $10 billion specifically directed includes more than $6.5 billion designated for countermeasure development through BARDA and $3 billion for NIH research.
Trump didn't do a damn thing other than whine and cry like a little bitch.
I object to your comparison of Dirtbag to "little bitches," who are indeed whiney and snivelly but still have much more "sand" and grace than the pool of slobber pretending to be president right now.
