It started with a mock ‘slave trade’ and a school resolution against racism. Now a war over critical race theory is tearing this small town apart.

Thanks, I guess. Thread needs to be moved then.

Split attitudes on racial justice progress

  • By Bill Ketter | CNHI News Service
  • May 17, 2021 Updated May 20, 2021
"...CNHI conducted a companion online attitudes survey. Results of the more than 9,400 responses to the unscientific findings varied widely on whether the Floyd case made people more attuned to racial injustice (66 % no) and the need for police reform (68 % yes).
...Nevaeh Wharton, a 15-year-old biracial high school sophomore in Traverse City, Michigan, said the attitudes of her generation can make a difference. Victim of a mock slave auction on Snapchat by some of her classmates, she used the gravely hurtful incident as a platform to speak out against racism and speak up for educating students about racial issues.

“If they felt like they were OK with doing that and it was in any way OK to say those things, then its poor education that makes them think that way,” said Wharton. “These topics are not discussed in school. If they are, it’s very little. We all know the issues, but we don’t talk about them.”

Says you, the one not providing content in which to make substantive replies.
All you have to do is prove it was racist which you apparently do not want to do.
Gaslighting won't work. Queue the "wrong as usual" and "iLOL". That's the extent of your contribution.

Then stop trying to gaslight folks and instead prove your declaration that it is racist.
Wow! According to you, this victim is lying, or perhaps mistaken. Cudos to you for not permitting her to get away with
smearing decent white volk !

Wow. You seem to be making assumptions you can not make.
So now you think someones personal opinion defines what is and isn't racism? That is strange, especially as that is not what the definition says.

May 1, 2021 — The uncomfortable truth: Racism, hate among children front and center after "slave trade" Snapchat.

Alternate link to the above article....

"..The challenge is in the classroom, and advocates believe erasing such hate starts and ends with education.
Slavery is a thread that ran through all of Keven Cross' curriculum when he taught U.S. history to eighth graders at Suttons Bay Middle School. Cross rarely sugarcoated the brutality and horror of the practice that placed humans in shackles and turned them into a commodity.

"You can see they are flesh and blood. You can see they are human. I felt my students needed to be confronted with what slavery really was and that slaves were not seen as human," Cross said. "For any of them sitting there, that is hard to comprehend."
Those participating in the Snapchat group, ignoring history and putting a price on their classmates is just another example of how racism persists, Cross said. "We were kind of hanging our hat on these kids to not say these things, to not think these things," he said. "But if these last four years have proved anything, people have cover now to say these things."

The dismissive reaction of some to the incident, saying it's just a Snapchat or they're just kids goofing around, worries Cross.
He said the inclination of some adults to rationalize and excuse the behavior instead of confronting the serious nature is because of how uncomfortable it is — how disappointing it would be to have to admit that such thinking exists among children or that the students are serious. Passing it off is easier, Cross said.."

More gaslighting follows the iLOL's.
iLOL If you are being gaslit, you are doing to yourself.
Still waiting for you to prove your declaration.

iLOl You are not provided proof that it was racist.
Ffs, how do you not understand that?
You influence no one but other racists in deep denial protecting their own insecurities.

So now you think someones personal opinion defines what is and isn't racism?
That's what you've done this entire thread... pretend that your opinion of what defines racism is an arbiter of fact.

It's not.

By all means, you may continue with the toxicity, and i will continue to expose it.

A hilarious personal attack coming from you.
Sounds more like projection you have going on there.

Wrong as usual.

It is not my definition, or my opinion.

Hilarious.
The only thing you have exposed is your own idiotic opinion and your own inability to prove your declaration.

More toxic repetition of gaslighting.

More toxic repetition of gaslighting.
In regards to you and making declarations you can not prove? Yep!
Are you ever going to prove your declaration

Irrelevant to your failure to prove your declaration.
This is just your usual toxic act. No matter the thread or topic, it always has and will be the same.

What would our politicians have to do if race ceased to be an issue? Or for that matter the media and entertainment industries?

In regards to you and making declarations you can not prove? Yep!
Are you ever going to prove your declaration
Justifying your objection to common knowledge is just a pathetic attempt to shift the burden of proof.

Every thread you haunt is infected with such toxicity.

So now you double down on the dishonesty again. Figures

Just more dishonesty by you. You are the one making the claim/declaration. The burden is on you to prove it.
That isn't shifting the burden. And you still haven't met that burden.

All you are doing is deflecting because you can not show it was racist.

Yes, those students were really, really, really stupid.

One should never, ever mock slave auctions.

I have read that the city is 90% Caucasian.

But now with all the bad publicity given in the liberal media about that stunt, their beloved city will no doubt start seeing a lot of newcomers.

You can't find a better example of white priviege: their indifference to the actual suffering of students of color and their regard for the imaginary suffering of white kids causes them to bend a school system to their will.
