I feel kinda sad to be in the serious minority here as a moderate
True, but it depends on the issueModerate can go either way as well.
You forgot the option that says the OP doesn't know what rightwing is.i see alot of people masquerading as centre, independent, moderate, and libertarian, but it seems like code for authoritarian right wingers to me.

If Diane Feinstein is a by-word for leftism, Sweet Catz, then yeah, they're all neo-con.
In global terms, this raging socialist, commie, pinko Prez of yours is centre-right. As indeed is anyone who doesn't question the hegemony of market economics.
based on he saw womens role as a traditional one in the home, without the right to vote, strongly enforced social order, extreme homophobia, discouraged pornography, prostitution, cosmetics, alcohol, smoking
Everyone did, in 1939.
What's your point? It seems like a lot of right wingers have their own notions of what that is.
Moderate can go either way as well.
Not according to some of the right-wingers on this forum. They've told me personally that moderates and centrists = liberal. Nice, huh?
It seems any group of extremists must form their identity through the mechanism of excoriating those who are a little bit different as actually being the opposite extreme. There is no middle ground with these people. "You are either with me or you are against me"
not everyone, even you yanks had given women the vote by the 20's
Whacked out, uber-dogmatic, illiberal left.
Real world examples of whacked out uber dogmatic lefties? Plz?
The single axis "left/right" model of political thought is retarded and fails to allow for the full nuanced perspectives that most people have. Even the two-axis models fail to encompass the full nuances.
The reality is that political views are widely varied within a single person, let alone large groups of people.
At 30,000', oil tankers look like grains of rice. Not according to some of the right-wingers on this forum. They've told me personally that moderates and centrists = liberal. Nice, huh?
In group/out group psychology. It's human nature. It seems any group of extremists must form their identity through the mechanism of excoriating those who are a little bit different as actually being the opposite extreme. There is no middle ground with these people. "You are either with me or you are against me"
A good number of the Europeans here, for starters.
you can easily see those who march to the same drum, both sides, right here on DP. i do think this site is fairly conservative.Yet some people 'follow' politics and 'subscribe' to one 'side' of political 'issues'.
'Nuanced perspective'? I would say 'some' people have 'nuanced perspectives' Id say alot of people march to the beat of the same 'drum' so to speak.
'nnNyes'

I think so too. It makes a lot of assumptions about people even before they start posting. For example, 'Lean'. It provides only one definition of what one might be if a 'leftist' i.e. 'liberal' and the degree of liberal you might be. It's as if concepts such as Green socialist, social democrat, socialist and communist don't exist.you can easily see those who march to the same drum, both sides, right here on DP. i do think this site is fairly conservative.
i see it that was as well. i'm pretty liberal, not ashamed of it, but every post i make doesn't bash republicans, as do some of our more partisan member's posts.I think so too. But the very concept of this 'lean' assumes the linear left-right divide that many posters are finding limiting and inadequate.
I really enjoy debating with people of all different affiliations and perspectives, especially those who really engage with an issue and don't write others off because they can be labelled and dismissed using a simplistic title.
The slogan the site uses: "Political bias optional, civility a must" is rarely accurate. "Political bias inevitable, civility only to those you agree with" would be much more accurate.
