There is a crack epidemic going on there and I can tell you its killing black folks all over the US. Between OD's and gang distribution failures and other rivalries and disputes black people are killing themselves not by white cops in downtown LA(although I dont condone that).
I will tell you what the number 1 problem blacks have. Its their constant feeling that someone owes them something. They feel as if society owes them money or wealth becasue they want to be pittied. I figured this out by the constant growing up around black neighborhoods. It was the same outlook and perspective no matter where I lived. I lived from coast to coast, midwest, dirty south you name it. I have seen burough to burough. The sentiment is all the same. They feel that the whites need to give the balcks their wealth and let them live like that. That is what tupac preaches in his albums as well. And its wrong.
I could say that the #1 problem whites have is that they think they know what everyone else's problem is.
But I am smart enough to know that not nearly all whites are judging blacks like you.

I even saw on TV where they showed blacks looting
out of stores but they talked to some white people coming out of the same stores and said

We all saw the pictures of looters. The black female cops in Wal-mart looting. Guys with TV's and Nikes. Has nothing to do with pride, it has to do with the choices one makes. And when one chooses not to take advantage of a free education not to take advanatage of free higher education, not take advantage of the opportunities available and sits back and waits for help then they suffer the consequences of thier actions.
My attitude comes from my parents who grew up in the projects and now live in a large house in the suburbs. My wisdom comes from my father who "rose above"
As does mine, from my father who worked long hours keeping him away from home, who scrimped and saved and started his own company, and both him and my mother who did not demand government give them money someone else earned so they could buy things they wanted. And it comes from my own experience working hard manual labor and working myself up and bettering myself, not because government gave it to me.

If there is one thing we have learned since the inception of the welfare state is that handing out solutions in the form of free housing, free food, free health care, and extra pocket money does NOT solve the problem of poverty. It breeds it. And as Bill Cosby has pointed out, living a life of crime, of drugs, of single motherhood of men fathering children and then abandoning them has put black society on the brink of total breakdown and New Orleans has certainly proven that.
