There certainly remains a bit of animosity there over north and south, but that's basically over. Americans are too divided for there to be a civil war here thats anything resembling our other. But civil unrest and popular uprising over the increasing attacks on civil liberties is somewhat of a potential problem.

You can only take so much my left wing friend.........57 senior officers relieved for cause..............under President Bush there were 4....The military loved him, That is not the case with Obama not is it with Hillary.
I have not paid much attention to news in general, let along military-specific news.

It is hardly surprising that the military numbers are being cut, considering the reduction in active conflicts (Bush had terrorism and the 2nd war in Iraq, Obama is winding down the same war and messing around in small stuff he probably has no business messing in.)

And, hell, maybe those officers deserved to be relieved, I have no idea.

Why would any of this mean a damn military rebellion, I have NO idea.

I think the nation is long overdue for some sort of civil war, revolution, or other armed uprising, but I do not expect to see it happen.

We've allowed our government to go too far amok, to the point where I do not think that anything short of a large-scale, organized, armed uprising will ever bring it back in line; but we've grown too cowardly, complacent, and ignorant to do what needs to be done.

So, what do ya think?

If there is a civil war in the near future, who's gonna fight who? What could be the outcome?

We are already having a civil war. Haven't you been hearing the mean things that is being said on TV? Haven't you read all the mean blogs out there? People aren't holding back. They are attacking their opponents with vengence. There is no telling what bad things they will say about each other next.

It's rough right now. How can you deny this brutal civil war that has been raging for so long?

Btw. I voted no.

The U.S. has been at nearly perpetual war with other states, or itself, since its inception. The day that we can no longer afford to cause more wars overseas will be the day that we turn on one another and implode. The U.S. is, by political definition, a warring state.

Foreign campaigns are essential to U.S. survival because they provide the body politic with outlets for aggressive discourse. Like any intelligent government, war is the means to keep the public satiated and distracted from any injustices that happen domestically.

The number of restrictions on their freedoms that Americans are willing to abide in this century are partially a result of distractive wars. The day that there are not wars to fight, the people will see exactly what has been done to them and there will be an uprising.

You couldn't get serious preppers to appear on that show for any amount of money. The real deal doesn't do media attention.

Sorry dude, 'serious' preppers is like military intelligence... not realistic. The fact is they are prepping for a paranoia that will not happen, and for that matter their 'preparations' are as realistic as the Maginot line, Custer's battle plans, or the Japanese defensive line in the mid Pacific. All sounded good until reality reared it's ugly head.... eace

Go ahead and believe what you see on TV then. :lamo

There are several posters on this site-who-if they assumed power and tried to impose their idiotic views on the rest of us would justify a civil war or more likely, surgical assassinations

Of course these people are so loony that even extremists on the left who actually can win elections won't have anything to do with them

about 1.5 million (no more UE) will now discover the truth about the "welfare" that they and the GOP complained about for years. They will not even be able to WIPE THEIR ASS!
(TP is not allowed with SNAP)

1.5 million for the rolls of revolution.........

The struggle is slaves vs those that work for a living and the masters of the slaves. Anti capitalism is now global. The capitalists have abandon the nation states and its
citizens. They think they are above the nation state, they will be proven wrong...............

Oh and our unemployment is 25% and growing. they replace US CITIZENS with foreigners every day..............
agian, the army grows.............

The consequence of the 2010 midterms was that the Democrats lost a ****load of political power. Deal with it. The government doesn't revolve around one party.

and our government does not require total conservative control to survive?

Interesting.

Do you have any idea how the last civil war turned out for those who launched it?

If not, I'll tell you- they got their butts handed to them.

It's easy to talk about a civil war, pulling one off successfully is another matter.

Go ahead and believe what you see on TV then. :lamo

Who said a DAMN thing about believing the loony tunes on TV??? Not me!

But you go ahead and think your 'prepping' does more than give the second rat your cheese if you want. eace

If there is a civil war in the near future, who's gonna fight who? What could be the outcome?[/B]

As always, the forces of Good against the forces of Evil. Who is who, it becomes clear after the victory. Since history is written by the winners.

How about Sears and Roebuck's catalogs?

Are they allowed?

I really hope you don't mind my taking the liberty to alter your posting in such a way as to improve its accuracy.

There are several posters on this site-who- talk a mean game but seems more likely they will just sit and spout-off, not willing to risk a paper cut to do anything close to civil war or a 'surgical' assassination...

Of course these people are so loony even the extremists on the right will have nothing to do with them, so nothing will happen.

I am reminded of an old saying from back in the Infantry- "A bitching troop is a happy troop, it is when they grow sullen and stare back hard you need to worry"

Bitch, piss, moan, make vague suggestions of violence.... it's all good.

There are some on this website who spout the meaningless rants of right wing discontent. To claim the nation is long overdue the very act that will set it asunder and destroy it- but in the same sentence say it will never happen- because if someone firmly believes this but doesn't expect to see it- it just means it is empty talk.

Then a government amok thing that has been said since the Constitution was signed, and the threshold requirement of ORGANIZED armed uprising. The very 'clear sighted' patriots are not willing to sacrifice a damn thing until someone else organizes the tawdry affair...

Just GOT to have the too cowardly, and complacent thing but that is aimed at the very ranters against the 'over-reaching' Government. It isn't the vast majority of citizens who don't see the world in so bleak and over the top terms. It is the very 'patriots' who in our earlier days DID rise up and confront a British Crown and a newly elected President in 1861 who seem to lack the conviction and willingness to act for more than personal gain when faced with the very conditions they calim make the nation 'long over do' for an armed uprising... :doh

I don't lose much sleep over it... eace

Yeah. Like I said, keep believing what you see on TV. :lamo

Yeah. Like I said, keep believing what you see on TV. :lamo

Repeating yourself over and over doesn't improve your position.

I have far more experience in the realities of 'prepping' and the odds of anyone doing more than providing the second guy through the door, or more likely the guy who didn't use the door, a few shiny new toys with way too much ammo to carry.

But do keep dreaming and thinking you have found the key to prepping... Fun fantasy while out at the local range... :2wave:

History shows, without fail, that all nations eventually fracture and evolve in one form or another.

And it is usually done when conquered or from a war within. However, disease and natural disaster also factor in.

America is no different. That's why I am the only one, so far, that voted, "Yes, but not in this century."

It's just a matter of time. How long? We can only speculate. But it will happen. By civil war? Perhaps.

I should have voted "I don't freakin' know."

Bad example. Scotlands not happy with their tyrants either.

so, are they threatening a bloody and extended civil war every time they lose an election?

yeah, i didn't think so.

i'm so bored with hyperbolic, impotent partisan rage that i could puke. you have a decent chance of winning in 2016 unless you run another warmonger or plutocrat. and you won't even have to get killed in a pointless civil war to do it.

No, but neither are americans, only a few very upset ones. And Scotland has a rich history of bloody wars for independence and they actually are going to vote on independence.

And Im not a Republican.
