The US civil war is somewhat sad from my perspective.
After almoust 200 years of civil war in Germany (between the small states) the conclusion learned was that every political leadership in the future should always avoid such divisions to take place.
After the Austrian civil war in 1923 and the birth of the second republic after WW2 in 1954 the two main political parties created a "contract of friendship" in which they swore to never call for violence against the other again. Which now is a kind of "code of honor" in the republic followed by every party.
I guess the disapointment in the North after victory and the resentment in the South towards the North because of the brutality with which the North pilleged and occupied the South, prevented any reconsiliation.
Or am I wrong with seing this that way?
That being said, I think it highly unlikely that civil war will break out in the US again.
I have not paid much attention to news in general, let along military-specific news. You can only take so much my left wing friend.........57 senior officers relieved for cause..............under President Bush there were 4....The military loved him, That is not the case with Obama not is it with Hillary.
So, what do ya think?
If there is a civil war in the near future, who's gonna fight who? What could be the outcome?
You couldn't get serious preppers to appear on that show for any amount of money. The real deal doesn't do media attention.
I guess I did.On National Geographic? May be a couple of episodes.
Better safe than sorry.
Sorry dude, 'serious' preppers is like military intelligence... not realistic. The fact is they are prepping for a paranoia that will not happen, and for that matter their 'preparations' are as realistic as the Maginot line, Custer's battle plans, or the Japanese defensive line in the mid Pacific. All sounded good until reality reared it's ugly head....eace
Go ahead and believe what you see on TV then. :lamo
During the Great Depression we had 22% actual unemployment (if not higher), millions effectively disenfranchised by Jim Crow, the genesis of a global ideological struggle between Communism, Fascism, and Capitalism, violently suppressed marches on the capital by veterans, unrest in the streets, and so much more. We still didn't end up facing insurrection, revolution, secession, or of course civil war.
But you think that slow economic growth, moderate malaise, and an unemployment rate that is around 7-8% will bring about this conflict? Good grief.
The consequence of the 2010 midterms was that the Democrats lost a ****load of political power. Deal with it. The government doesn't revolve around one party.
but I do not expect to see it happen.I think the nation is long overdue for some sort of civil war, revolution, or other armed uprising,
We've allowed our government to go too far amok, to the point where I do not think that anything short of a large-scale, organized, armed uprising will ever bring it back in line; but we've grown too cowardly, complacent, and ignorant to do what needs to be done.
Go ahead and believe what you see on TV then. :lamo

about 1.5 million (no more UE) will now discover the truth about the "welfare" that they and the GOP complained about for years. They will not even be able to WIPE THEIR ASS!
(TP is not allowed with SNAP)
1.5 million for the rolls of revolution.........
The struggle is slaves vs those that work for a living and the masters of the slaves. Anti capitalism is now global. The capitalists have abandon the nation states and its
citizens. They think they are above the nation state, they will be proven wrong...............
Oh and our unemployment is 25% and growing. they replace US CITIZENS with foreigners every day..............
agian, the army grows.............
There are several scores of posters on this site-who-if they assumed power and tried to impose their idiotic views on the rest of us would justify a civil war or more likely, surgical assassinations

Who said a DAMN thing about believing the loony tunes on TV??? Not me!
But you go ahead and think your 'prepping' does more than give the second rat your cheese if you want.eace
Yeah. Like I said, keep believing what you see on TV. :lamo
Another conservative tantrum thread about civil war. Next up : Republicans win an election, and liberals threaten to move to Canada.
Utter nonsense. I'll tell you one outcome, though : if you guys start blowing each other up over a lost election, I will leave. Scotland rather than Canada, though. Back to my roots, and you guys can throw all the tantrums that you want over the other Fisher Price My First Political Party's victory without me having to dodge bullets because of hyperbolic idiocy.
Independence debate: Yes, Scotland? - FT.com
After 307 years as part of Great Britain, Scotland will soon decide whether it is time to once again go it alone. Opinion polls suggest that nationalists still fall short of the numbers needed to unpick the 1707 parliamentary union with England that lies at the heart of the UK. But nationalist and pro-union campaigners alike agree that with eight months of febrile campaigning to go, the result of September’s historic referendum is far from assured.
Bad example. Scotlands not happy with their tyrants either.
so, are they threatening a bloody and extended civil war every time they lose an election?
yeah, i didn't think so.
i'm so bored with hyperbolic, impotent partisan rage that i could puke. you have a decent chance of winning in 2016 unless you run another warmonger or plutocrat. and you won't even have to get killed in a pointless civil war to do it.
