Just months after he gave a speech earlier this year that challenged America’s leadership in President Obama’s presence, Dr. Ben Carson was targeted by IRS agents who requested to review his real estate holdings and then conducted a full audit without finding any wrongdoing.
“I guess it could be a coincidence, but I never had been audited before and never really had any encounters with the IRS,” Dr. Carson said in an interview Thursday with The Washington Times. “But it certainly would make one suspicious because we know now the IRS has been used for political purposes and therefore actions like this come under suspicion.”

Yes. But to many, it's not a surprise the most dangerous government agency in the country should be used in this way.

It is part of the Progressive agenda to have powerful government agencies where hand picked professionals can rule over citizens, without the messy business of elections or other such old school ways to determine the will of the voters.

For example, who would have thought the EPA would develope something called "Environmental Justice" which they will role out next year, hammering business, and applying regulatory confiscation to redistribute wealth? How does that fit into their mission?

I don't know if there are rules or what those rules may be that allow for the audit of any individual taxpayer in the US. If there aren't rules, or if there are rules that allow for potential abuse as appears in this case, people should be demanding of their representatives and this administration that those rules be change and tightened.

Personally, I don't find it coincidental - I too find it chilling. Prior to a few months ago, I hadn't heard of Dr. Carson, but then he was being highlighted as a strong conservative voice in the black community and suddenly he's under IRS scrutiny. Too many coincidences can lead one to being legitimately paranoid.
