I think you need to look up the definition of "overwhelmingly". Even today, GOP barely holds Congress.
 
Trump just called for Israel-Iran ceasefire. Sounds like he’s calling Israel’s bluff now that the enrichment facilities are destroyed.

Yeah, I'm also seeing some online news releases about this. Here's one from CBS, I just saw. We'll see if that holds. That would be very good news.

Since I was a child attending a Christian vacation Bible school I have been exposed to and lived among many religions and faiths. Not one would disagree with the sentiment expressed in Luke 2:14.

Sadly, through the years, peace and good will has failed to materialize among human beings.

I think they know they cant win a conventional war. So they wont plan for that. They will restart their nuclear ambitions, and rebuild with the scars of the last week. Nobody knows how the next phase of this will turn out. If one truly believes the regime are irrational terrorists, then the next 12 months could get really scary. All it will take is one major terror attack in europe, israel or us soil.

However i suspect most of the proxy fighting will be in Iraq, which is the real buffer between them and israel. And if Russia pauses offensive pushes in ukraine to help the iranian regime regroup, who knows what will happen.

Too many people view this situation like a video game that just ended. There's no light switch here.

Only problem with your defensive attitude is that I couldn't care less if a black man was half black, quarter black, or full black. In case you need reminding (which seems to be often when we get into it) this is what I said................

I've always thought iran were rational state actors, which also why I believe the "war" will happen in Iraq as a proxy again, not direct military conflict with israel/us

Myself, yes. Iran knew that their attack would have no effect. but they had to at least let out a "last act of defiance" in order to save face before throwing in the towel.

It must be remembered, the PATRIOT systems that have been sent to Ukraine have been highly effective, and those are 1-2 generation old systems. What is located al Al Udeid is the newest iteration, PATRIOT PAC-3 MSE. And from all reports I am reading and watching, Iran launched 14 missiles. 13 were intercepted, one was determined to be landing outside of the protected asset so ignored.

There was never a chance of Iraq doing any significant damage to Al Udeid. They simply lack the number of missiles to overwhelm the air defense systems, or the power to do any significant damage even if a "leaker" got through.

So we're back to square one of Iran committing terror via its proxies, hiding its nuclear ambitions, only this time no inspections, no deals, just the full support of Russia & perhaps China. And who knows what Iran will try in Iraq over the next few years.

I never said Trump could be trusted. Even by Washington standards, the truth means little to him.
