Iran says it launched attack on US forces at Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base

The U.S. and Qatar jointly, intercepted all the missiles (including several ballistic missiles) launched into Qatar today - none successfully penetrated, no damage done, no injuries, and no deaths.
We know.

The Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq have risen today.

I was just going to mention the Dow went up.
The biggest news in the markets today is oil is down 7.5% when I last heard. That means oil is now down about $10 since the day Trump took office.

Next thing we know Trump will invoke articles 5. This is not good.
Can't happen from this. The attack has to be in Europe or North America.
That's why the Falkland Islands attack didn't provoke Article 5.

The Doolittle Raid did some damage. It was more for morale (increase ours & crater theirs) then anything.

This little thing from Iran was like a mouse trying to scare a tiger.
As they said when I was a kid: A fart in a whirlwind.

Brotha, you have really got to ditch the Trump mindset.

You are the text book definition of who they are talking about when referring to TDS. None of that has any bearing whatsoever with what I was discussing. It does you no good to continually hit the dead horse that a Trump administration is. It is ending upon the next election. I would instead focus on how you can reach the people again if you want them to vote in a Democrat.

I'm posting what I said again in case you actually wanted to address what I said.
It’s all relevant. Trump’s past shows every indication that he never should’ve been elected to anything higher than a parking lot attendant. And those that voted for him show questionable judgement. The man has always been a career criminal.

It's amusing that you think this is over.

I doubt that Iran will let it go with a few penny ante potshots. This was their way of doing it overtly for the world to see.

I expect from them at least a few major cyber attacks/attack attempts. But that's about all they can really do without causing NATO's Article 5 to kick in.

Reports I'm seeing say the all the incoming Iranian missiles were intercepted, and there were no casualties from Iran's attack.

Let's hope this is Iran's futile, face-saving gesture. Their state-controlled media will report great damage done to the Great Satan and the hostilities with the US can end. If Iran takes a second swipe at us I think a disproportionate response will be in order.

And none of that matters when discussing YOUR candidate.

They are either more electable, or they aren't.
In this particular case, they weren't.

The question on the table is what needs to be done, to find one that IS. So far, I have seen a lot of 'racism', 'misogynist', 'stupid' tossed around but nothing at all from a reflection standpoint of things you, or the party could have done to be and do better. Nothing but excuses.

Trump only became a career criminal to some after his escalator ride into politics.

I'm still perplexed how a sociopathic, multi-bankruptcy real estate hustler who couldn't even get himself into college managed to fool enough people to get elected.
1. He changed dogwhistling to bullhorning.

2. He licenses scared and desperate people to blame others in a way that feels liberating.

3. Democrats in leadership would rather be the loyal opposition than risk losing their big donors, their lifestyles, and their access.

He was a career criminal the second he was found guilty of stealing millions from a children’s cancer charity and felony business tax fraud.

He's always been a career criminal. He's been running away from loans and bills and skirting regs for decades. Until he ran for office nobody really knew about it outside of the tri-state area.

And? Oil prices have been depressed due to fears of economic slowing from Trump's tariffs, which is not a good thing

Let's see what happens in the future on oil prices depending on future actions by iran. Etc

... and I now read that Iran gave advance warning before the attack.

Translation: "Hey, US, we're going to make a face-saving gesture for purely internal purposes. We don't mean any harm. Feel free to shoot down all the missiles we send (included below are their launch times and flight plans). Please don't mistake this for a serious attack and get angry."

Trump did theater for us now Iran does theater for its people.

I find it amazing how mere "theater" can set back Iran's nuclear ambitions by years, at least. Who knew that's all it would take?

The great negotiator showed his true weakness and rather than negotiating bombed Iran.

As I posted on the other thread, Iran wants to avoid a direct confrontation with the United States -- at least until it can be reassured that it has a deterrent threat of its own, either of their own making (not likely at the moment) or from an outside source (Russia, China, Pakistan, etc.), which isn't very likely but perhaps closer to reality than people might think. Iran is an important lynchpin in Russia and China's Great Game with the United States. If Iran looks like its regime is in serious danger of collapse, I doubt that Russia and China are going to just sit by and watch that happen, though there's always the unexpected (i.e., if it crumbles from within and collapses suddenly like Assad's did in Syria).

All of this is to say, for those thinking that this is a nothingburger, I wouldn't be too celebratory. The whole reason this conflict escalated into an all-out assault on Iran is because Israel and the US want Iran to stop all of its own enrichment. There's no sign Iran's going to do that.

Sadly yep.
I'm old enough to remember Trump's early interviews from the '70s and '80s when he was sometimes called 'a young Robert Redford."

Even then his ignorance and arrogance were on full display to such an extent I could never understand why he was often asked about running for POTUS.

Now, I suspect he requested (or even paid for) such queries.

Hopefully, he dies like Epstein.:giggle:
