Iran says it launched attack on US forces at Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base

This was just announced by JD Vance while in an interview with Brett Baier.

CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED! Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World. During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL. On one hand they are suicidal religious nuts who will nuke and kill us all

On the other hand they are smart rational actors who dont want to die

I think they know they cant win a conventional war. So they wont plan for that. They will restart their nuclear ambitions, and rebuild with the scars of the last week. Nobody knows how the next phase of this will turn out. If one truly believes the regime are irrational terrorists, then the next 12 months could get really scary. All it will take is one major terror attack in europe, israel or us soil.

However i suspect most of the proxy fighting will be in Iraq, which is the real buffer between them and israel. And if Russia pauses offensive pushes in ukraine to help the iranian regime regroup, who knows what will happen.

Too many people view this situation like a video game that just ended. There's no light switch here.

Trump barely won in 2016. Lost the popular vote. In 2016, I think he only won MI & WI by 10k-20k votes & PA by 40k (?) Of course he did better in 2024.

And the moral of the story is that, for all of the hyperbole and childish insults, Americans overwhelmingly prefer Donald Trump over a Democrat. You folks better do some soul searching instead of tantrums or you’ll never have power again.

Iran doesn't have to "win against the USA". All they need to do is to cause public damage to some iconic American symbol at a time and place least expected. Middle Easterners don't push buttons or FAFO. They plan retaliation in the future with both physical and psychological damage in mind.

We were played into a dangerous military and political situation by Israel in 2003. In going to war with Iraq we lost young people, economic resources, respect and world stature. Now, once again the focus of world attention is on our belligerence in fighting Israel's battle with Iran.

Iran has done us great harm, their leaders do not like us and they are probably right now planning on more harm, but, they have never betrayed us in ways Israel has done.
