Do intersex people exist? If so, what sex or gender should they be classified as?

I'd wager the vast majority of the minors have actually had some kind of gender reassignment surgery fall into category. Which is like 0.002% of transgendered youths.

Yep…

It is estimated that up to 1.7 percent of the population has an intersex trait and that approximately 0.5 percent of people have clinically identifiable sexual or reproductive variations.

Having only a vague idea of what "intersex" meant, I looked it up. if anyone else is unsure of it's definition, as I was, here is the best I found.
Intersex individuals are people born with variations in their sex characteristics that do not fit into the typical male or female binary. These variations can include:

  • Genitals:
Having both male and female reproductive organs (hermaphroditism) or ambiguous genitalia.

  • Chromosomes:
Having a combination of XX and XY chromosomes, typically associated with female and male sex, respectively.

  • Hormones:
Having levels of male and female hormones that do not align with their physical sex.
Intersex conditions are not a disease or a choice. They are a natural variation in human biology that affects approximately 1 in 1000 people. Intersex individuals may identify as male, female, intersex, or another gender identity. They may also have different experiences with their bodies and their gender, and may face unique challenges related to healthcare, social stigma, and discrimination.
Based on that above I voted yes.

Right-wingers and some Dems would ban the treatment of intersex people.

My understanding is that intersex people don't need to be "treated." There's nothing inherently harmful about being intersex.

Actually one of the cruelest things about this is that many on the right are likely very much in favor of leaving the decision to "normalize sex" at birth if a child is born intersex with ambiguous genitalia up to the parent(s) and/or surgeon, since that is one thing that has consistently been exempted within many laws targeting transgender people. That means before a child is anywhere close to being old enough to consent, generally talking infants here, they actually don't care if the surgeons are able to perform these surgeries. Surgeons are allowed to perform these specific surgeries, showing the hypocrisy and additional cruelty that is part of these laws.

“When lawmakers propose and pass explicit exceptions for surgeons to operate on intersex bodies before the patients themselves can consent, it makes it clear that these bills are about erasing bodily diversity, not protecting anyone.”

The most important issue for the democratic party to run on. OK, that and Get Trump!!! Let's just imagine that the democrats chose to run on closing the border and cleaning out the waste in the federal government and Trump ran on the trans agenda. Which would the voters prefer? Neo-leftists claim to be of superior intelligence then turn around and do the dumbest things.

Yes they exist. Their sex should be classified by what it is, and their gender identity by how they identify.

A person with the 'intersex' condition Klinefelter syndrome is male and their gender identity may be masculine, feminine or non-binary.
A person with Swyer syndrome is female and their gender identity may be masculine, feminine or non-binary.

Depends what you mean by treated. A girl with Swyer syndrome will need hormone therapy if she wants to go through puberty. A person with ovo-testes will usually have surgery to remove the testicular tissue due to increased cancer risks.

True, but I was referring to intersex people in general, not particular types of being intersex that do require physical treatment.

Yes and they need to bring back the X marker for government ids. Mr. 47 revoked this because he thinks there are only two sexes.

Please tell me about the supposed trans-agenda. Thanks

XXY folks take testosterone.

Maybe I interpreted "treated" as "fixed," as in, there was something wrong with who they are. That's different from having a condition requiring treatment.

It isn't about right or wrong, it's not a moral issue. If someone is fine with ambiguous genitalia and gender characteristics, physically and psychologically, that's perfectly fine. If someone isn't, then they should be allowed to proceed with whatever healthcare and gender-affirming treatment is required.

That should turn out a majority of voters! (do I need a sarc here?)

I suppose. Why else would there be a town called Middlesex in PA?
