Illinois Democrats Approve of Criminal State Rep Derek Smith's Re-Election 2012.....

Despite his arrest on a felony bribery charge earlier this year, state Rep. Derrick Smith (D-Chicago) was re-elected in Tuesday's election.

In Illinois' heavily Democratic, 10th legislative district, Smith was challenged by independent candidate Lance Tyson, who was endorsed by Governor Pat Quinn and Secretary of State Jesse White. Smith still managed to win 62 percent of the district's vote with 72 percent of precincts reporting. As of that time, Tyson had won 38 percent support.

Smith was expelled by his colleagues in the state House of Representatives in August in the first such vote in over a century. The Chicago Democrat was arrested in March after he allegedly accepted a $7,000 cash bribe to write an official letter of support for a fictional daycare center that he believed was seeking a state grant. According to the criminal complaint, the informant working with the FBI delivered an envelope filled with the cash to Smith, which he accepted.

One week after Smith was charged with accepting the daycare center bribe, he still managed to win the support of about 76 percent of the vote in the state Democratic primary over Tom Swiss, former chairman of the Cook County Republican party. Prior to that vote, a coalition of Chicago Democrats urged primary voters to re-elect Smith despite the controversy.....snip~

It just keeps getting worse for the Midwwest and the Democratic Politicians that have been Re-Elected or Elected. Several Crooks and Criminals all getting to be Politicians. We have Jesse Jackson Jr who also says he is so Bi Polar he must keep checking himself into the Mayo Clinic. Then Michigan elects a known felon. Now with this guy Smith.....this one really takes the cake.

Gets caught taking a bribe as a Politician. Gets kicked out of the Illinois Congress. Yet all the Democratic Pols told people to re-elect him over anybody else that was running against him. He did have a Primary and the Demos in Chi-Town were upset with the other guy as he had ran as a Republican before.

So rather than do what is Right.....the Democrats sanctioned the vote. Despite kicking him out of the Illinois Legislature. Now that he has been re-elected he can go back. As they can't hook him up for Double Jeopardy in the Illinois house.

Yeah yeah.....Chicago Politics. Problem with that is a lot of stuff they do here ends up getting passed around to the rest of the Country too. Chicago People that are Blue-Dog Democrats keep getting taken for a Ride by these Pols here. Madigan has had his share of time in the lime light to. Yet look at the Democratic machine here.....they re-aligned districts made Repubs have to go against Repubs and now they will do anything to Prevent the Right from taking over here.

Also BTW Napolean Harris won Election here in Chicago. Some may Remember the NFL Running Back. Looks like he will get suckered into the Corruption around here.

Especially since we know that the left picked up Seats in the House. Also knocking off 10 Tea partiers who had just won election.

One only needs to look at this election to know that most voters are totally uneducated when it comes to politics.
