If you hate Trump, when did you start hating him?

Before he even ran for office? Was it when he went down the escalator? When he was nominated? When he won the election? In the last year? And if you like, tell me source of information you used that made you begin hating him. (optional).

I think I still don't really hate HIM.

He's kind of like a rattlesnake your dumb cousin picked up bare handed. It is what it is. It's a wild, venomous animal. Of course it's going to bite you.

He's a loud, egotistical, born rich, bully asshole. He plays a good reality TV CEO. He'd never held any position in any government. All of that was obvious to me in 2015-2016 the first time I started tuning in.

It was pretty jarring for me to realize how naive some people are, to see that guy speak and think "yeah that guy should run the country"!

Here's something I thought people learned in elementary school: the guy that constantly brags about himself and never shows empathy for anyone else... when **** goes down that's not the guy you want on your side. That's the guy that will blame other people, run away, and then later claim that he did all the work.

Hate is a strong word. I don't hate anyone. Also, it would be difficult, I think, to hate someone who has a severe mental illness, though you may well hate their behavior.

I greatly dislike Trump. The first time I heard Trump talk on television news I didn't give him much thought. He seemed to me to be a person who was full of himself and full of **** and not someone worthy of anyone's attention. The second time, I saw him on television it occurred to me that he wasn't normal. Something wasn't right. It seems that around the third time I saw him on television or probably the internet I began to greatly dislike him.

For me, a few moments stand out in creating disrespect for him: when he couldn’t admit he was wrong about the Central Park Five, when he compared immigrants like my father to poisonous snakes, when he advocated war crimes like the ones we hanged people for after WWII, and of course pardoned people who had committed war crimes. With a low life like Trump it’s hard to limit the list of his odious words and actions.

(Luckyone smacking his hands with joy to answer this question)

I had very little knowledge of the man before he started running for office but when the media started covering him in 2016 I began to get a picture of what kind of a person he was when younger, The first item that came to view was that he was sued by the Justice department of racial discrimination in 1973. A lawsuit that he later settled, meaning he acknowledged guilt through his pockets but not acknowledged guilt with words and deeds. I have never discriminated against anyone and is one of my basic rules of conduct, so that started to give me a bad taste about the kind of a man he is/was.

I then started to listen to him and what he was saying against Muslims and about Mexicans. Since I was born and raised in Mexico and lived there for the first 18 years of my life and know Mexicans well and generally have a good opinion of them being friendly, honest, and good people and he talked about them in such a bad way, I started to dislike the man. That was followed up with the 25 sexual misconduct allegations against him, the proven fact that he cheated on his wives (something I do not believe in) and the debasing attacks on Hillary (a woman), I started to realize the man was the kind of a person that I do not approve of. Exactly the opposite of what my parents taught me to be and who I strive to be.

All of this was followed by him separating children from their mothers and then even worse, not keeping track of where they were being kept or sent so that they could reunite in the future generated my first feelings of hate against the man. To me, that was the act of a heartless person and 100% against what I believe in........which is, family is the most important thing in life. In addition, his abasement of everyone that disagreed with him and even more so of patriots like John McCain, who I was not in favor of becoming president but who was someone I respected highly because of what he gave for his country and what he stood for. The abasement of the gold star family at the republican convention and the way he talked about women in general, made me come to hate him as being everything I despise in a person. Not just one thing, but everything.

From there on in, my hate grew with his incompetence in handling issues of the country, his belief that he is above the law, the 3500 lawsuits from people he worked with or were partners and his ability to defraud them after they did their jobs, his inability to keep good people on (such as Mattis and McMaster) and his desire to have yes people around him. Him doing things by his gut without taking the time to read, to study, to seek opinions from others and my hate became cemented as I realized that at age 74, this man had no desire to learn and to be the best he can be but simply do what he wants no matter who gets hurt.

I came to realize he does not represent "any" of the things I believe in. In fact, the total opposite. As I have stated often, no one is perfect but if at least one of the following things (morals, ethics, principles, or humanity) are found in the person, I do not hate that person. I may disagree with the person and likely won't "like" the person but then again that is the normal way life is. Nonetheless, to have none of the virtues at all, that becomes a person to hate and to fight against, The same way as if you found a mate that had many or all of those qualities, become someone to love. Just as I love my wife to the nth degree, I hate Trump to the nth degree.

Does this answer your question fully?

Hate nope, dislike yes.
I feel sorrow for Trump. Deep sorrow for all he has thrown away. He could have gone down in history as one of the greatest presidents but he seems stuck in some 1950's world view.
I think he would have signed any bill put on his desk. Healthcare for all, infrastructure, whatever he does not have any real ideals, he just wants to be liked.
He has no idea of what's going on in his agencies, he doesn't care. He's really good at the 10 second sound bite and can be talked into anything, look around him everyone seems to think he's some mastermind. He's not, someone says something and he just says sounds good let's do it. He doesn't think further than that.
He knows more than 1/2 the country dislikes him so he only focuses on the ones that like him, not realizing you can't govern that way, eventually it will catch up to you as it has.

Going around the country this year I have seen less and less Trump signs and it's sad where I do see them is generally in over grown yards, with roofs half caving in.

I don't care about Trumps affairs, his foolish bragging, incessant need for attention, the tweets don't even bother me what bothers me (although I wish he would shut the **** up) more than anything is his disregard for certain Americans.
I miss having a president for all 50 states.

He has always been a joke in my view ....... long before he put himself into the spot light thus revealing a very shallow insensitive person. His hotels are going down down down.

Hey if you’re not careful they may give us Sarah Palin again next time!:lamo

...they ALWAYS 'give us' a bankster puppet... i have met many politicians and candidates for the stinking republicrats and i've met exactly one who could honestly answer 'WHO CREATES OUR MONEY AND HOW DO THEY DO IT?' [hint for republicrats: the biggest bite anyone can take out of injustice is found in 'our' stinking rotten monetary order..]

...btw, the monetary realist politician i met was defeated soundly in a primary...

The better question here would have been, "If you support Trump, when did you start liking a thrice married, six-time bankrupt, Clinton donating NYC Liberal, pampered Hollywood celebrity who cannot even drive a car?"

...soon after the orange fool started putting a stinking 'r' after his name....

I didn't know much about Trump before he ran. I started down the "never Trumper" path when he stated that he "liked people that weren't captured".

The man is unfit to be the CIC.

I came to this conclusion based on Trump's own words

...but but rush and glenn told them that mccain was a RINO... it's ok to be mean to RINO'S and throw them under bus because...well... they are RINO'S!...

....rush and glenn say that good republicans are abortion prohibitionists [the 'good' republican (fools) call it 'pro-life'.. ] and they don't EVER compromise with democrats...

Interesting how they never refer to it as being "anti choice."

Not unless one of those wives is a cousin and the third is a niece. But, we all know Trump would marry his daughter, if given the chance. So, you are correct.

I NEVER thought of him as being presidential material. I recognized that many people liked Celebrity Apprentice so I watched a few episodes of one season to see what the hype was all about. Didn't hit me. Period. I figured that that there must be enough people who did to make the ratings soar. "They" liked the Kardashian show, and survivor 40 shows. So there was THAT.

I don't "hate" Trump. I don't hate the people who vote for him. But I have found that EVERY Trump supporter will dismiss his tweets and negative comments, which means I don't trust them. Trust, science, facts. In other words, the world became scary to me precovid. And now? Trump/anti mask/conspiracy mind thought? Wicked scary.

The moment he announced as a presidential candidate for the GOP is the moment idiot leftists suddenly found their new hatred of Trump. The simple fact is that if Trump was not the front runner and hadnt won the election and if say, Cruz or Rubio had, the leftist response would have been as mindless and deranged as their hatred of Trump. It wasnt so much that Trump won...it is that Hillary lost the rat party ring of power and the Gollum HATES him.

Here's the problem. We managed to 'get over' the losses of Carter, Mondale, or Dukakis, or Gore, or Kerry without this problem, and I don't see why the 2016 election would be any more traumatic especially when Hillary wasn't even likable, and did not engender enough loyalty to get voters to the polls. If Dems were apathetic about Hillary, what do you suppose created this attachment to her after she lost?

You are just coming up with excuses for picking the absolute lowest form of life, when you never needed to. Hillary was easy to beat, you could have taken her down with any of these candidates. You might as well have picked someone with a moral compass and some competence rather than a sociopath, a narcissist, and a lying buffoon. This mess is 100% the GOP's fault.

In 2016 I thought he was dumbass with some worrying authoritarian tendencies and really hoped he wouldn't win. In 2017 when he became President I quickly realized he wasn't going to be very good at it, which was actually kind of a relief, because also meant he wasn't going to get much of his idiocy done. When the Mueller report came out I realized that many fears about Trump I still had hoped would not be true were unfortunately very true, though the more that leaked from the White House the more I had started to suspect it. When the "perfect call" was released I knew they had grounds for Impeachment, but also knew he'd never be convicted. When he completely squabbled America's Covid response I realized how dangerous it is to have a crook in office. I still don't hate him, but I hope he loses, I don't think 4 more years of Trump would be good for anyone.

The democrat party is the party of hate.

During the GOP primaries for the 2016 election. I thought he was a juvenile blowhard bully type who would turn on his own. Turns out, I was right.

I never liked his TV show but that did not concern me. I really had no animosity towards him then. I would just change the channel. But once he jumped in the political arena and shoved TRUMP! TRUMP TRUMP! down our throats, 24/7, all the while demeaning and insulting Republican leaders I had respect for, in his 3rd grade intellect kind of way, I got to where I can't stand the guy.

I don't hate Trump. Never liked him. I didn't like him in the 90's. I couldn't stomach his TV show. I honestly thought his presidential run was a marketing scheme. Never thought he would get the nomination. But when he did I resigned myself to him being president. I knew he would win.
After he won I thought okay we have this big government machine he's not really ideological he can do some great things. But after the first year it was obvious he just wanted to be loved and that was all that mattered because he would never try to win anyone over only govern to and for those that love him.

I find the recurring talking point that "Trump's done NOTHING!!" to be a complete puzzler. He's done a lot. Now you may not LIKE what he's done, which is your choice, but damn...

We should ask all 3 of Donald Trump's wives this same question.

When he switched to the celebrity apprentice format probably. IDK. He has always been too NYC for me. That said, Biden and Hillary are far worse IMO. #VoteHowie
