If SCOTUS says you cannot use race to fix racism, how do you fix it?

In the Louisiana vase the court will son render its decision with you cannot fix racism by using race. This is not just in politics but has become this racist court's direction in all of the cases involving racism in this country, of which there is plenty. All you have to do is hear the GOP talk about DEI and you know that racism is alive and well in the good old boy USA. Good example is the Trump administration firing all of the black leaders of the military saying they only got there due to DEI, straight out old white only rules apply. And now the court will make it the law of the land in this case in Louisiana, you cannot fix racism by using race as that in itself is racism. My question then, is how you fix racism in this country, of which there is plenty, if you cannot use race in any way, really? Trying to change the minds of Americans about race does not seem to work as we have had hundreds of years and yet it seems no better than when this country accepted slavery, so how to fix racism without using some form of race?

Not a fan of racial decisions.

For example admissions for education, student loans, etc.

Instead of targeting “race” programs should target socioeconomic status.

The children of an African- American probably don’t need help, the child of a white West Virginia coal miner? Probably more so.

Map of white supremacy groups in the USA. There is at least one KNOWN group in every state except Alaska. Does not surprise me and should not surprise anyone.

The problem in this country goes far beyond just education, loans etc.. IT goes to how Americans think about people of another color and that leads to I do not want my child going to school with "them" or dating them or marrying them or having to live next to them even if just unconscionably. It goes deep into every aspect of our lives. I suspect if two equally qualified candidates for a job are seen by a white supervisor, nine out of ten times the supervisor will give you a reasonable reason for choosing the white candidate, even in the most liberal parts of the country.

Education and national leadership is the answer.........................especially leadership, something sorely lacking at this time....

Apologies.

EDIT: "The children of an African- American Dentist probably don’t need help,..."

And that map tells us what? That California and Massachusetts are two of the most racist states in the nation?

The history of this country created these inequities based on race, especially in the case of black people, so it's not surprising that the solutions were along those lines and expanded to other groups. I think what you're referring to makes more sense going forward, but the reality still skews in one direction:

You do not think that California cannot have racist living there, then you are naive. Being a service brat, I have lived in many states and more even when I was in the service, there are racist everywhere in this country. Some are racist openly and some keep it hidden, but they are everywhere.

Racism is NOT something that can be "fixed", any more than something like bigotry or nihilism can be fixed.
At the interpersonal level, no. But we can address that which exists at the systemic level as has been done in this country.

Except among democrats, right?

They are going to use race in their decision. They will reestablish another white dominated district to deny 30%+ of the state's population a fair chance at representation.

While they demand a conservative quota at state universities.

That's a misrepresentation of Trumpian proportions.

The case is about gerrymandering.

You speak as if DEI was a good thing.

Hint: It made things worse.

MAGA craves racism. But mainly in one direction of course.

And much of that racism is because they can't compete. They can't compete against women and minorities and such. They have to have racism to regain their Confederate glory.

Worse for whom?

All who was most affected by DEI policies as a group.

How is it racist for black (or any racial/ethnic minority) voters not to have congressional districts specially created (gerrymandered?) to render them a majority?

"soon"???

So, the Supreme Court hasn't rendered its decision yet...but somehow, you know what it's going to do?

Hey, can you teach me that trick?
