I don't think we've tried this one.

I don't think Bernie will even make it through the stress of an election. The guy was geyser 3 years ago but ya never know.

Where's the "don't know/not sure" option? Ah, that's alright if you want to force a vote - I understand.

But I'm voting "other". I'm sure Bernie would have had it in 2016, but I'm far less sanguine for 2020. But I am sure that if Bernie is the nominee - these will be the debates we should have had in 2016!

Doesn't matter who the DNC tells their party members to vote for, Trump will win.

Trumps 4th q contributions....46 ****ing milllion.....ouch....dems better start reaching into their piggy banks if they want to even try and come close to Trump in this election.

As a Jew and a socialist, Bernie doesn't stand a chance. No matter how much he rails against Israel, the underlying antisemitism will defeat him. The pinko commie label will bury him.

I think Bernie takes it comfortably. Remember American Presidents are decided by a handful of states in the rust belt.

I'm not very confident in my prediction, but the only candidate that will inspire young voters is Bernie. I think a strong majority of older Democrats will still vote for him, but there will be losses in the recently gained suburban Republicans. Aside from the word socialism Bernie is positioned pretty well in those rust belt states given his stance on trade. I think he beats Trump by close margins in the rust belt.

Being Jewish has absolutely nothing to do with politics. See the First Amendment.

I think Sanders would win. He would destroy Trump in debates, is anti establishment enough for the anti establishment folks, and is sincere.

I don't think we've tried this one.

Trump fundamentally won by flipping the rust belt/so-called 'blue wall' with outsider/anti-establishment appeal and economic populism.

Bernie handily eats his lunch on both (especially since Trump revealed he is largely an establishment Republican on matters of the economy), has more popular pillar policies, motivates and galvanizes the young, and would probably crush Donnie in the debates, so Sanders for sure.

He's been better than ever since his stents, physically and electorally. Personally I'm far less worried about Sanders' physical health than I am about Biden's mental/cognitive health should the latter win the primaries.

Not sure, but I do not believe he'll be the nominee. OTOH, stranger things have happened. Regardless, I think Trump will win reelection since the Democrats don't have a clear vision suitable to most Americans. It's a case of the Independents, the voters who actually pick the winner, will go with "the devil we know".

Of course Trump's head will swell by winning reelection and it's possible the Republicans will finally tire of his BS and exercise the 25th Amendment.

Sorry, but not good enough. The RWers will vote Trump, the LWers will vote whomever is last to leave the Democrat's Clown Car leaving the Independents to pick the winner.

How do most Independents feel about Lefty Loony Bernie?

Pretty good per polling I've seen, especially on his core policies. He consistently polls ahead of Trump in terms of head to heads as well, but without Biden's baggage.

I totally agree.

Among Democrats, certainly. We'll all see in a few months.

I am actually referring to independents; MFA, big infrastructure spends, getting money out of politics, and free public college and vocational training all poll very well generally.

Re: If It's Trump vs Bernie, Who Will Win? I

Now that Sanders has started his back-stabbing of Biden, Buttigieg, etc, I’d rather not see the burn be a McGovern 2.0 in 2020, which is exactly what we would have seen from Sanders in 2016. Try watching Bernard on mute. :lamo

The 2020 election will be the beginning of the second decade in a row that millennials and minorities will throw away at the polls with their piss-poor voting habits. Repubs will dominate state legislatures all decade, and therefore remapping, just for starters.

The Trump/McConnell Federal Judiciary will dominate until 2050. Well done Justice Puritanical Morons. Keep watching new gerrymandering tools and voter roll purges.

The only polls I can find mention "Democrat-leaning" Independents, not all Independents.

FWIW, Democrats slightly outnumber Republicans, but it will still be the Independents who pick the next President. Add to that the Electoral College and factor in what states those Independents reside.

Bernie vs. Trump? Odds will be on Bernie.

Of course not. But it has everything to do with the temperament of the voters. Or should I say "distemperment?"

Yup, those polls sure helped Hil win.:lamo

Donald Trump is not easy to handle in person by any stretch of the imagination. He knows how to manage crowds, journalists and opponents. It is true that Sanders excites some people on the left and I suspect he would be a better contender than Clinton was, but I don't think any current Democratic candidate could run circles around Donald Trump.
