@bongsaway, there has been a law on the books for years that allowed non-violent felons to have their cases reviewed and their Second Amendment rights restored. However, in 1992 Democrats in Congress cut funding for the program, which has resulted in zero rights restorations for decades.

However, this roadblock is being eliminated and otherwise law-abiding people who made a youthful error years ago will have a chance to get their rights restored after appropriate review.

If a convicted felon wants a gun. He's getting a gun. Denying them the legal route is kind of moot.

Not really because it gives law enforcement a mechanism to prevent a larger crime.
If I stop a convicted felon and he has a firearm he goes back into jail making it less likely he will commit another crime.
Recidivism rates being what they are….

Real estate taxes do suck, I must agree. I think mine are too high as well.
Cuomo, though? He hasn't held office for over 30 years, and has been dead since 2015. You might think about letting go of that. It's unhealthy.
