I was refused a firearm and I have no felonies, am not a terrorist, no domestic violence, no convictions for anything since I was eighteen.

Here's the thing you folks refuse to accept. I don't have to deal with the government. They made their decision and I will not pay them to find out why. As I stated over a hundred posts ago, I wanted to buy her one for home defense as a christmas present, period. It was never intended for me, even though I would have been the legal owner if I had been able to purchase the firearm. It's all you folks on the right who have tried you best to overwhelm me with bullshit and all the laws I'm breaking even though I'm not trying to purchase a firearm. You guys have made this thing into an issue, as usual all because I asked for some help in understanding their reasoning.

Maybe it has to do with you saying guns should be harder to get, and then complaining when they're harder for you to get.

So, did you lie on question 21.a of the 4473? (Bonding is on the original form). Because it sounds like you tried to commit a straw purchase.

21.a. Are you the actual transferee/buyer of all of the firearm(s) listed on this form and any continuation sheet(s) (ATF Form 5300.9A)? Warning: You are not the actual transferee/buyer if you are acquiring any of the firearm(s) on behalf of another person. If you
are not the actual transferee/buyer, the licensee cannot transfer any of the firearm(s) to you.
Exception: If you are only picking up
a repaired firearm(s) for another person, you are not required to answer 21.a. and may proceed to question 21.b.

You just said that you wanted to buy someone else a firearm. That is a straw purchase and is illegal.

BTW, an FFL can deny a sale for any reason.

The owner of a Tucson gun store where Mark Kelly recently purchased an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle canceled the transaction because Kelly did not plan to keep the rifle for his personal use.

The real title of this thread should be “FFL refused to allow me to make an illegal straw purchase.”

In all fairness I'm not sure he has said that.

Yes he did.

And as usual Bongsway can’t even keep his own story straight.

Start a thread about how you were denied when you tried to buy a gun.

Then claim over and over that you were not trying to buy a gun.

And here you go back to saying you tried to buy a gun.

It’s just another in a long list of threads where you prove that you have a real problem being honest.

The tv was over fifty years ago. In court I admitted to nothing and so what a technicality, the police knew better and the judge even said so. So, with no convictions, why am I being punished?

something it hitting on your background check

Democrats pushed hard to get background checks and every now and then mistakes are made. Maybe your name is similar to someone else? stolen identity?

who knows - you'll have to pay to find out

that's how Democrats made it - you don't have a Constitutional Right to buy a new gun thanks to them - that's something they control

join the NRA and fight 'em

And I'll be damned if I am going to go through all of that for a gun.

your choice

but that's the system the way the Democrats set it up

buy person to person where its legal and get your shotgun that way

Did you miss the part of I refuse to pay the extortionists to find out why? **** that, they can keep the gun. In my insane mind, if you are turned down you should be told why instead of trying to get money out of a person to find out why. That's bullshit.

funny as I go back and look at bongsaway's posts ... its all good when the very gun control laws your side/party/beliefs support impacts others ... when you're the one impacts? not so fun

and maybe I'm reading all this wrong .... seems like a gun control supporter got locked out a Constitutional Right by the very thing he supports

I would be fine if all gun owners owned a musket and a flintlock pistol.

Why do you feel the need to carry a firearm? What is the scenario you are envisioning? Carrying a gun on the streets to me is bad ju-ju and bad juju attracts bad juju. I was in some of the worst neighborhoods daily in a big city and never felt the need to carry a gun and I was never shot or shot at.

Listen to the gun advocates, they see dangerous situations everywhere, that's why they claim to carry a weapon. Reality be told, they are scared shitless to take a good old fashioned ass kicking from another.

Maybe start talking about some sort of gun control, like a chip in the gun that only the legal purchaser can activate to make the gun work?

Why, who has taken your guns from you? What new eo's is trump signing that infringes on your gun rights?

oh I 100% agree

Democrats said no, that's now how its going to work

blame them

He is whining abut having to pay a fee but doesn't even know how much it would cost. This is just more performance art from one of our resident gun control advocates.

There is no initial fee required to submit a FOIA request, but the FOIA does provide for the charging of certain types of fees in some instances.

For a typical requester, the agency can charge for the time it takes to search for records and for duplication of those records. There is usually no charge for the first two hours of search time or for the first 100 pages of duplication.

You may always include in your request letter a specific statement limiting the amount that you are willing to pay in fees. If there are estimated assessable fees for your request, an agency will notify you in writing of the estimate and offer you an opportunity to narrow your request in order to reduce fees. If you agree to pay fees for a records search, you may be required to pay such fees even if the search does not locate any releasable records.

You may also request a waiver of fees. Fee waivers are limited to situations where requesters can show that disclosure of the requested information is in the public interest in that disclosure is likely to contribute significantly to the public understanding of the operations and activities of the government.

I sympathize with the incredible deficiency of government. Put in the same breath I don't turn around and suggested the solution to every problem.

I've never thought about it.
Honestly, neither have I. I have never been denied. So, I decided to do the work that the OP failed to do to see how bad it would really be.

This is still going on? Frankly, if I were denied, I would pay a bit of a fee to find out WTF is on my record that is shooting me down.

As my understanding, the dealer is not informed of the reason, for obvious reasons. Only of denial.
You have to take that up with FBI NICS. And certain things come with an administrative fee.

If you have something that got you denied, and still tried to purchase, then pay a few bucks if you want to know.

Or just keep bitching about it and accomplish nothing at all.🤷‍♂️
