I Voted for Obama, Now I'm Voting for Ron Paul

I don't see either Paul or Cain as having lost marbles. I don't agree with their extremist positions. Paul's separation of government and business would not work IRL in my opinion because business would use it to continue gutting our economy in the name of greed. Cain's 999 ideas on the economy give far too many cuts to the wealthy and corporations - and they have had these for over a decade without building up the US economy.

Preview I imagine of Paul's Economic plan

Ron Paul’s detailed agenda for America will be disclosed next week and a senior official with his campaign tells The Brody File that it includes eliminating five governmental departments, cutting one trillion dollars in spending and Dr. Paul would take a presidential salary of just $39, 336, which is the median salary of the American worker (The President’s base salary is normally $400,000).

The five departments that would be abolished are the Departments of Education, Energy, Housing and Urban Development, Commerce and Interior. However, while the departments would be eliminated, the plan would be to roll certain functions into other departments. For example, the Department of Education would be done away with but pell grant programs would be phased into other departments.

There’s a lot more details to come but those will be unveiled Monday in Las Vegas.

When the full plan comes out, i'll post it in the U.S Election thread as a new topic.

I took the strap off my bag and had him hold it. ;) I was waiting for him to finish talking with a few other people, but the security guys seemed slightly worried that I was holding it so close to Dr. Paul. :p

Dr. Paul was joking that it might be tricky for him to frown because he's such a happy guy.

Well...if they really want their vote to actually count for SOMETHING (though not much) they might want to consider the probable Libertarian party candidate...Wayne Alan Root. Paul wont make it out of the republican primaries.
Your probably right, but this is a glimmer of hope.

Be my guest, but Ron Paul will never be President, for one thing he is too old, nobody would vote for a person that's currently 75 and wourn 80 in his term if elected.

He is also the most honest, wise and upstanding candidate. He has my vote and looks to be in better health than most of them. His "actual" hard work and dedication has toughened him.

Even if he possibly doesn't win, im glad just uttering Ron Paul name now puts fear into these crony bastards.

Le sigh... maybe one day we can get a non-elite that is not from goldman sachs farmy up there. People must really like them...

Ron Paul: The last honest Republican standing (video) | Washington Times Communities

EASTON, Md., October 20, 2011 — Love him or loathe him, Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) is the real deal. He doesn’t play games. He is who he says he is. His policies may startle, threaten, or even please you, but he never panders. And he definitely is not Plastic Man. (See Ron Paul campaign video below)

Last Tuesday, Ron Paul was the only honest Republican on the stage. Maybe because he doesn’t hold his finger up to see which way the political winds are blowing. Unlike his GOP opponents, he never flips and flops over the issue du jour.

Isn't Mr. Paul that gentleman who said he would have voted against the civil rights act? Isn't he the one who said businesses should be able to have signs out front that say, "no Blacks allowed".

Is that the Ron Paul his fans want elected?

Hmmmm.

Paul wrote:

"[It] not only violated the Constitution and reduced individual liberty; it also failed to achieve its stated goals of promoting racial harmony and a color-blind society. Federal bureaucrats and judges cannot read minds to see if actions are motivated by racism. Therefore, the only way the federal government could ensure an employer was not violating the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was to ensure that the racial composition of a business's workforce matched the racial composition of a bureaucrat or judge's defined body of potential employees. Thus, bureaucrats began forcing employers to hire by racial quota. Racial quotas have not contributed to racial harmony or advanced the goal of a color-blind society. Instead, these quotas encouraged racial balkanization, and fostered racial strife."

^^ I can add more own views but it's not necessary. He also sees people as individuals, not as groups.

If I think I know where you're going with this then...

I dont care who says what, as a black man, there is no way not voting for the civil rights can be spun to be a good thing. Same is true with businesses having those signs. WE are supposed to rely on the kindness of the business owners to allow us to eat.

I am a vet. Did 20 years actually but if I was still in, was in uniform and was going through a small town somewhere, Paul thinks its ok for the enitre town to not want to serve me. You cannot spin this to make it right. No way.

It is not 1957 or some such time, its 2011. I do not want to rely on the town "doing the right thing"...I want it illeglal for them to not serve me or my family.

Well Paul issue is that govt took to much power and control on how a private business should be run (arbitrary race quotas). It just gives man a reason to hate and it causes reserve discrimination.

For me personally, I tend to take the view that Malcom X did, that the idea of going to another man, or a group of men in government and beggin for "civil rights" is not freedom at all. Laws don't stop people from being racist and just causes more social problems by attempting to unconstitutionally solve them (problems likely created by the govt to begin with, by taking way people's freedoms to choose.) This is also a free market issue. Wouldn't have this problem if people take Paul's view and see people as individuals and not groups.

I have a question for you. Say if you ran a business. Do you believe you have the right to refuse service to NAZIs or KLANSMEN? (be honest)

Good idea. Vote for Ron Paul. He'll be the last president we ever vote for.

Jasonexe, I know youtube is great and all, but you are giving it a bad rep using it to perpetuate Ron Paul's campaign.

Hmmmm.

As racist as this might sound businesses should be able to not allow whoever they please on their property.

It should also be noted that this whole issue was completely blown out of proportion.

Also what Jasonxe said. He basically put out the reality of the premise of the idea(which btw I do agree with regardless of my beliefs in property rights which I believe outweigh it) I would of undoubtedly voted against the bill if you haven't already guessed.
