I think you're probably right about a lot of them. People who fiercely and vocally oppose homosexuality are often denying their own latent homosexual feelings.
I'm not opposed to SSM, but I did have to reconcile my position with my religion and that took some time and thought. Sometimes though, some of the most vocal SSM supporters can be such jerks about it, it makes it hard to be on their "side".

So if I say I cant stand Hockey, I am a closet Bruins fan?
I had an epiphany.
I think the reason why some people are so damned horrified about the acceptance of SSM is that there will be an automatic assumption that when they say they're married, other people will assume they're married to a member of the same sex.
When you say you're married right now, you're automatically deemed straight.
Once SSM becomes accepted that assumption goes away.
I think those anti-ssm people are probably scared crapless people will assume they're gay.
'm I right or am I right?

Some people really get offended if you ask them if they are gay. Not sure why, people automatically assume that I am heterosexual, it doesn't offend me. The only thing I can think of is that they are insecure.
Why exactly did you need to reconcile it? As far as I am concerned, my faith is about my relationship with God and my faith does not require me to control others. If others burn in hell, not really my problem.
Whatever happened to "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another"?
Whatever happened to a lot of the things in the Bible, the Old Testament in particular? You do you and I'll do me.
I am against it because its a mortal sin against God.
Odd that you should mention the OT when the quote is from Jesus.
I am against it because its a mortal sin against God.
Why would you ever ask them that?:Its none of your business.
God doesn't give a damn if you're gay or straight.
