I got my 2nd Moderna dose yesterday (side effects !)

Here in Austria we are a bit late compared to the US with vaccinations, but yesterday I got my second dose.

50% of the population now has received one dose, 28% the 2nd.

After the 1st dose, I only had an upper arm that hurt for 2 days or so.

Today, in addition to that, I have a strong headache, fever and I’m quite tired.

What about you ?

Stay in bed 'til your fever's down. You earned it. Hope by tomorrow you're all better. The very mild side effects I had were all done within 48 hours, even the sore arm. Hang in there!

I had the Pfizer and after the second I had 1 day where I was miserable. Was completely beat and had a fever...by night my got the sweats, my fever broke, and I felt almost normal very quickly after that.

Celebrate because those side effects are a signal that you have a robust immune system.
In the next 24 to 36 hours it will go "POOF!!" and suddenly you will feel as if it never happened at all.
I almost DIED from COVID and when I got my two shots, all I ever had was a sore arm both times, so this is me now, hoping a booster shot will be available soon, because I intend to get it as soon as they are.

I received my second Moderna shot in the morning, started to feel side effects that night before bed. Mine were chills for a short period of time, slight temperature and mild headache. The next day, early afternoon, I took an Aleve to get rid of the headache completely. Within an hour, the headache was gone and the slight fever was gone. I was a bit lethargic that day after, but I expected that. Like Checkerboard Strangler said, side effects are not a bad thing at all with the COVID-19 vaccinations. I think you should just rest, and take something for the headache, you should be fine. :)
 
i was tired and had some chills. no fever. the way i describe it is that if i had been in the trial, i would have been pretty sure that i was in the test group rather than the control. overall, it wasn't that bad.
 
Various friends and family of ours have a bad day or two after their second Moderna shot but nobody I know had much more than a sore arm with Pfizer. My daughter and her husband both get their second Moderna shot on Wednesday so DH and I will stay close by because they have a three year old and a 3 month old so if they are both down they will need some help.

I had a very sore arm after the second one (Moderna), woke up that night with chills and aches which I classify as "mild". Seemed slightly stronger after the 2nd dose, the side effects, but still not real bad for me.

Within 2 days all noticeable side effects were gone.

I got Moderna. Just a sore arm after the first shot, but after the second, less of a sore arm, but a bit tired and yucky for a day. Not really bad, but I had to take a nap.

Modern 2nd caused fever, general tiredness, but it wasn't so bad. Then again, I don't mind physical symptoms of illness unless it's the kind that keeps you glued to a toilet/garbage can. Vomiting can be debilitating. (Though against my better judgment, I once went for a run like that. Had to stop every 10m to dry heave, but there you have it).

The mental symptoms are what kill me. I feel like I lose an easy 50 points off my IQ. Memory is shot. My mind simply does not function properly. So I usually use those days to get a longer workout in, get some physical things done around the house/yard, etc...

I had both doses too:
give it a day or two and you will be back to normal, and more, you will feel more virile.
now if you take the people who are too scared to take the vaccines, they tend to feel impotent, that is why they bleat as loudly.

I have a family of 5, all over 16. We had 2 fevers, 3 headaches, 5 sore arms, 5 groggy and generally felt like a flu was coming on.
All were well by the end of the 3rd day. Some sooner than others.
Congrats! You now have a lot of extra protection. :)

After her second shot of moderne my sister had slight fever , sore arm that was hot to the touch and was tired .
It lasted about 1=8 hours. Then she felt fine.

My husband and had the Pfizer vaccination and other sore arms at injection site we were fine.

My 2nd Moderna shot just gave me a sore arm. However, my son experienced a headache and some fatigue with his 2nd shot.
 
Sounds like the same for me after the second shingles vax. Haven’t had the Covid yet.
