There, I said it. I don't like it because I've discovered that I don't like compact autos at all. That said I think it's reliable and is generally a great little gun...if you like small autos. I would recommend the Shield to a friend, it's just not for me. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/...4_750001_750051_780153_-1_757781_757781_image
This week I may just trade it in for a revolver since I'm in the market for a small gun. I proffer pocket carry and autos are not very good for that as their flat profile makes them print horribly and they're more difficult than revolvers to draw from the pocket. I'll say that my choice in a pocket gun is not meant to be a zombie-apocalypse all-in-one do-everything gun. This is the piece I want when discretion is very important. It only needs to be accurate from me to the front door.
I'm looking at a Ruger SP101. My local Scheels has a 3" barrel model in the used gun case for $480, 357mag/5-shot (though I'll load 38+P). Maybe a 2" model would be a better fit for pocket carry. Since I've always "looked military" anyway I have no problem buying tacticool 511 paints to accommodate.
Your thoughts on pocket carry are welcome.
