It is all in a Grande cup with a splash of milk. It is delicious! I love espresso. Unfortunately my espresso machine broke and I don't get the replacement until the 23rd. :( It is a GOOD replacement though!

Well, you probably won't sleep for the rest of the month. Hope that's a good thing.

I recommend getting a Krups. I'm happier than a puppy with two peters over mine.

Cool, Krups is supposed to be good. Do you have an espresso machine or just a coffee machine?

After drinking that much espresso it may be a few days before he realizes he's dead, though.

Oh nice, a combo. Do you use both sides?
Typically what I do is brew two cups of regular coffee on one side, pour it into a sealed mug, then brew a couple of shots of espresso on the other side and add it in. It gives you that espresso kick, but it isn't overpowering.

I assume you're grinding your own coffee?

No, I buy Lavazza online pre-ground. It's great!

See, the thing about pre-ground is that there are oils in coffee beans that evaporate pretty quickly after the beans are ground. If you want to keep those oils, you pretty much have to grind your own right when you brew it. And if you grind your own, you don't have to buy different coffee for the espresso side. You can just reset the grinder.

Plus I think it's cheaper to buy the whole beans too, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Lavazza is vacuum sealed to preserve the oils. But there is probably some loss due to not being freshly ground. Still, it makes a delicious cup of espresso and I am quite pleased with the brand. There are a lot of other cans of vacuum sealed pre-ground espresso out there which just taste horrible. My local Harris Teeter seems to carry all of them.

Interesting. I wonder how much loss occurs after you open it though?

I guess I'm just a little too OCD when it comes to coffee.

Your poor kidneys and adrenal glands.

I go through a can in about 5 days, so there is probably a little loss, but I really can't tell. A good crema - a good machine, rich espresso - not bitter, a little sugar = tasty!

My new machine has a hand press and I have had espressos made from one before. I am very excited. Unfortunately, I have to wait for the Italians to build it before it gets shipped to me. I think it comes the 23rd. In the meantime I am using a french press.

It sound excessive. Caffeine can cause PVCs.

I'm very happy with my Classic Gaggia espresso machine, it's been great!

My espresso machine broke too. I miss it. :(
But we're not replacing it.
We just purchased one of those cold-press things from Starbucks. It's not even electric.

What are PVCs?

Gaggia is supposed to be good.

You mean a French Press? I use one these days and it makes great rich coffee. I pour boiling water into it.

Yeah, the kind you pour boiling water in. I haven't used it yet, but that's because my husband always makes our coffee.
I'm pretty pleased with it, except that the last swallow is usually a little bit gritty.
