I'd be interested in your definition of what constitutes an 'extreme religion' then. If it's because it's written into the law of the religion, Islam has that covered. If it's because that is what a majority (in this case 60 to 70% of muslims who support Sharia Law), well they've got that covered too. See there's not really any angle you can play, because the facts just aren't on your side no matter how bad you want them to be. You are most certainly making a cop-out, because all you are giving are excuses instead of substantially supporting anything you say. I understand, you don't want Muslims to be bad. Guess what? I don't either, and I'd venture to say most people in the world feel the same way. The thing is, by in large-part they've struggled to adapt their thinking to fit in the modern world, and if we continue to ignore that like you, they will continue to do it, and people will continue to have problems with them.

By your thinking, pretty much EVERY major religion is extreme. There is a difference between literalism and practice. Most Muslims don't go around killing people. Most Christians don't go around killing people. Most Jews don't go around killing people. If you read the texts that those religions are based on and take them LITERALLY, they all should be. I am uninterested in literalism since everyone interprets their religion differently. I am more interested in those interpretations and why most people take a moderate approach and a minority of extremists take a more extreme approach. There is plenty supporting what I say: behavior.

Disillusion does not equal reality, and your disillusion that most Muslims aren't extreme is not factual. Just because most Muslims don't go around killing people doesn't mean they still aren't extreme when they support the things they support - including others doing the killing for them. I find it quite disturbing that you don't think otherwise, but unsurprising considering it's people in denial that enable these situations in the first place.

I can't vote because it's both. Actually, your first choice should be "Radical Islamic Terrorism", because it is in no way reflective of the beliefs of the overwhelming majority of Islam.

You base your reaction on your imagination rather than reality.

The reality is that the punishment for homosexuality is death in 7 Islamic countries, is a capital offense in several others, and very large percentage of Muslims do support the killing of homosexuals even if they would not actually do so, themselves.

In my experience, the less a person knows about Islam, the more they are likely to defend it using false equivalences. In calling Islam a "religion", they simply lump it in with other religions and fail to see any differences. despite the considerable ways in which various beliefs are not the same or the prevalence towards acting on the various beliefs.

People might as well say a wasp and an f-16 are the same. After all, they both fly through the air and both deliver a sting.

Well it's still a religion. It's just a religion that hasn't evolved to keep up with the times, and people are ignorant to that fact, because not being so contradicts with their oversimplified pedestal of multiculturalism.

I actually find it quite disturbing that you believe the silly overgeneralizations that have been presented in certain parts of the media. The fact that most Muslims AREN'T extreme is factual. Most Muslims don't support others "killing for them". That's just fear and hatemongerning, but it doesn't surprise me that people believe these lies; it's these people that perpetuate the problem by promoting the hate.

In my experience, how much one knows about Islam is immaterial. It is how one INTERPRETS Islam and one's personal agenda that make a difference and demonstrates their intent. Whether they are Muslim or not.

I don't care whatever you poll says, it was a great spectacle with your crazy gun laws, and hope the next one is better, I give this one a 7/10 for the amount killed and imagination
