In fact the US did compete and moved off shore not because it could not compete but to get even more profit by outsourcing to lower their production costs even more and preventing competition from overseas by buying up all the manufacturers. More importantly the manufacturing you think the US "does not compete: with is in fact high tech. The US never developed the same technologocal expertise becaise it assumed it could buy it out and control it overseas.

Trump lost to Biden because he was perceived to have lied about Covid 19 and mishandled the economy.

Biden dropped out of the race due to clear medical issues and was replaced by Harris. She lost for many reasons includinhg: 1-failing to convince the middle and lower classes of the US she could run the economy; 2-an interesting phenomena of many male minorities and young people turning to Trump.

If I used your arguments I would say she lost because Musk on behalf of Trump fixed the voting.

No, I did not work under Biden. My work started under Reagan and Bush in 1981 and continued til 2001. I worked as Amnesty International USA’s national refugee program head for the bulk of those years. I did volunteer on the border a bit under Trump in 2018. It was sort of surreal, with the immigration service screening people in at the border and taking migrants to our shelter in El Paso, even as Trump was denouncing them in Washington. Some US soldiers from a nearby military base even came by in their spare time to set up a chapel where the migrants could have services. Salvation Army provided cots, and church groups special meals.

As I remember the stats, the percentage of asylum grants has stayed much the same. If you don’t like what I did, get the laws changed and the three relevant treaties removed. As I said before and repeat now, immigration officials cooperated with my work and that of others. I addressed meetings of asylum officers and immigration judges and have the thank you letters from them for doing so. Why would they invite me to talk about issues and thank me for addressing their regional or national meeting if I was causing so much crime through my work.?
