This guy had cops sent to his house 39 times, and law enforcement was contacted 20 times. This wasn't just one tip. Responsible citizens did their job, and now the FBI expects us to pay the price for their mistakes, by confiscating our guns. I say, we abolish the FBI for an entire year, no pay, nothing, out on the street, as punishment. Imagine all the money we would save.

Good idea to abolish the FBI for a year. Then the terrorists could have free reign. Mass murderers could have a great time unencumbered. Bank robberies will go up. Cyber crime will be out of control. Lawmakers can be as corrupt as they want. It'll be anarchy. Good times.

No it does not excuse the FBI, because the FBI used to be a lot better than it is now, on multiple fronts.....I have been talking for the last 5 years or so about how the FBI has let us down, about all the evidence that this is a deeply troubled agency now that cant even do the basics very well, as was proven by their very poor job of running their crime lab and leading forensic science, by their habit of running around looking for troubled men to entice into bombing plots so that they can put them into prison and thus look like they are working to save us, and in the last few years looking at how politically motivated the bosses are, and now recently understanding that the alleged best of the best Comey sucked badly.

The FBI is broken along with the rest of America, this is something that we should care about, this is something that we should fix, sooner rather than later.

Fund is talking today about the lack of accountability at the FBI, but this is a problem all through the FAILED INTELLIGENTSIA!.

Then even though the FBI screwed up in ignoring the tip, it makes even less sense for people to try to blame them for the attack. At the end of the day, it's still the state & local authorities responsibility to go into state Court and seek temporary commitment for psychiatric evaluation or an adjudication of mental incompetence. (The latter far less likely in this situation).



A federal court isn't going to commit someone to a state prison hospital. If we're wondering why the FBI didn't do anything, why didn't the police if they had all this contact with the kid?

Trump has helped energize the groups that have been responsible for the added workload, the White Supremacists. Yes, in the past five years they are responsible for more deaths than any other terrorist group or groups. And guess what, there are pictures out there showing the Parkland shooter with one of those groups. Maybe if Trump would just once go after those groups instead of telling us what good guys they are the FBI work load would be reduced.

This is tryue that the fbi gets way too many tips to follow, I mentioned it in a thread about wray resigning, reality is the director does not see those tips given at his desk nor do most of the fbi. many are reviewed and not seen as credible enough, others are deemed credible but do to fbi workload can often become bottom of the list, Ie muslim xyz planning a suicide bombing in florida or white supremecist group xyz planning a bombing or xyz black supremecist group planning mustard gas attack on police scenarios will rank higher, Many of those greater scenarios get the bulk of fbi recources, and in reality of let's say an isis guy was planning to blow up a school, would the fbi devote more resources to tracking and stopping that or to some kid who raised red flags but had not yet shown intention.
