The age old question.... How do you know when you are falling in love with someone?

The age old question.... How do you know when you are falling in love with someone?
Well ..

Are you losing your appetite .. unless she's on the menu?

Are you neglecting your housework .. but her place is spotless?

Does your face reflect that certain glow .. but you haven't been protesting at the Nevada test site?

Is she like perfect in your eyes .. making her the only person in the world without a flaw?

Are you finding yourself short on cash .. and her long on new jewelry, clothes, room deco, and tummy weight?

Are you daydreaming more .. and night wet dreaming less.

Have you recently become Sir Romeo of E-mail .. and she your virtual Juliet?

Is "soulmate" a new thought in your mind .. and you previously weren't even sure what a soul was?

Just askin' ...

Well, there's "in love" -- and there's "in lust."

In lust can keep you awake nights...he's the only thing you've been thinkin' of...make everything else in your life unimportant...cause you to sing in the shower and the car...dance with abandon...primp and preen...brush your long hair out of your face...dialated pupils...excess energy. Ah, lust...

In love is doing his dirty laundry after he forgot to take your car in for an oil change.

Oops, sorry about that.

If you find yourself thinking about him/her during every idle moment that would be a good sign.

Yeah, I would say so.

Are you neglecting your housework .. but her place is spotless?

More the other way around. She's been spending a lot of time at my new condo, helping me move stuff in and get it straightened out.

Does your face reflect that certain glow .. but you haven't been protesting at the Nevada test site?

My face doesn't ever really glow.

Is she like perfect in your eyes .. making her the only person in the world without a flaw?

No, but she is the one woman I've run into whose flaws I have been willing to overlook, and who seems willing to do the same for me.

Are you finding yourself short on cash .. and her long on new jewelry, clothes, room deco, and tummy weight?

No. Most of the money we've been spending has been on things for my condo and food.

Are you daydreaming more .. and night wet dreaming less.

Not really, but I've never daydreamed much or had much experience with the other end of things either.

Have you recently become Sir Romeo of E-mail .. and she your virtual Juliet?

No, but my iPhone almost crashed when I tried to download the full transcript of our texting over the last month.

Is "soulmate" a new thought in your mind .. and you previously weren't even sure what a soul was?

I'm not sure about "soulmate" yet, but best friend is definitely on the table.

Love is caring for someone in spite of their flaws.

The age old question.... How do you know when you are falling in love with someone?

There are 3 aspects to love.

One is commitment. When two people decide that they will stick to their relationship through good times and bad they are able to show each other that they have commitment to each other.

One is intimacy. Intimacy is when two people are able to share their thoughts and feelings with each other without fear. It's about being honest with each other and both people respecting that honesty.

One is passion. Passion is when the birds and the bees do as they please.

When a person has all 3 of this aspects with another person, and that other person has it for the first as well, it's love. When a person has only one or two of these aspects, it's something else. Those relationships can be just as important, but even so it's not love.

I too have wondered how to identify and describe love in the romantic.

I have found that if there is something about her spirit that draws me to her, and I come to care about her, to root for her, just as she is, then I have dropped my guard, opened the door, and truly let her into my heart.

I invariably soon realize that I love her.

If she reflects the same toward me, then we are both very fortunate, in that we truly love each other, and have become good friends.

Now if I also desire her, well, I have then offered her a passionate seat upon the archetypal queen's throne in the royal hall of my heart.

If she does likewise desire to make me her king ..

.. Then, we are in love.

Though we have historically not reigned forever, after a time I can honestly say that there isn't a one of my lovely ladies about whom I don't still care about to this day.

And while they may no longer dwell in the castle of the kingdom of my life, those who now reside somewhere in the village below will always have the good thoughts and general favor of their once and former king.

I've given up deconstructing love. It's always different. Every person is different and how they interact with you is different. The way I feel is different. The things that make it work are different. Sometimes the difference is radical. But none of those relationships were any more or less important than the other. I also don't have the typical view of what the goal of a relationship is, so that's out too.

Not too long ago, I finally stumbled on it. The only thing that really matters. There's no single thing that is what we call love. There's over-lap between all of us, our experiences, but ultimately it's like trying to gather cats.

And this question that someone asked me is the only thing I've ever heard that counts for anything:

"Is time better when you're with him?"

That's it. Is time better? Even when it's bad, is it important, meaningful, i.e. better?

As far as I can tell, that's really all that matters.

You just know and you won't have to ask yourself or others.

A different topic,not having anything to do with the op, but;

When my hub saw me for the very first time, he said he KNEW I was going to be his wife. I did not have this same ''KNOWING'' at our first encounter, but as we continued to date and fall in love, yea, then I knew.

Oh yeah - just like your husband's feelings. That's how it was for us in the beginning. Instant electricity - it was really surprising.

It's becoming a very intersting ride. She's spent most of the last two weekends with me, and it's been GREAT. She hasn't stayed over at my place yet, but maybe next weekend. I've cooked breakfast for us the last two Sunday mornings and made dinner on Friday night. I just fell like a different person when I'm with her. A better person. Hopefully this keeps getting better and better.
