How do people elect this level of stupid?

People made the same claim about Hank Johnson's query regarding the rotational stability of the island of Guam. He sure didn't sound like he was being sarcastic. And neither did Gohmert.

It's possible he was, and I was listening for an indication this was the case. I didn't hear it.

That wasn't obvious to me. Perhaps I would have to be much more familiar with his extemporaneous speech to come to your conclusion. His questions seemed sincere.

Yeah, that's why he HAD to include BLM in his sarcastic comment
He's plain stupid. Perfect for the deplorables that elected him.

This is a plainly partisan exercise to interpret an opponent in the worst possible light. People in the press ask snarky questions like this all the time and everyone knows what it means.

No reasonable person would conclude that Gohmert really thinks there are government agencies that can control the orbit of the moon, or the earth.

Man, I clicked on this thread thinking it was about Joe and Kammy. I am disappoint, son.

Gohmert wants to know if the Bureau of Land Management or the Forest Service can change the orbit/movement of the moon and/or the sun.

What is really stupid is thinking Gohmert is suggesting that the forest service change the orbit of the moon or the earth now.. He just acknowledged the fact that both orbits have changed, and it probably has an effect on climate change. He just broached the subject of altering orbits to correct a natural phenomenon. We can walk on the moon and send helicopters to Mars, so maybe we do or will have the power to change orbits in the near future. Who is really the stupid one here?

Yikes! I thought this was a joke, but it's not

Speaking for the rest of the world: don't **** with planetary orbits America! Especially this one.

The easy answer, is that it happens almost every single election since the beginning of time. People are gullible and believe what they want to believe regardless of what is right there in front of them. It happens across all spectrums, all flavors of politician and in every country that has any form of Democracy.

?? Oh really !!?? Why on earth wouldn't we? The GOP has a House representative that believes California wildfires are cause by "Jewish space lasers", and COVID must be a "bioweapon" because "evolution doesn't exist"! The last GOP POTUS told us we could kill the virus by taking disinfectants internally, or shining bright lights into our bodies.

Gohmert is a Tea Party member of Congress. There isn't anything we shouldn't be willing to believe about him!!

If we all travel to one side of the earth and jump up and down at the same time, climate change denislist CTers will still vote for ridiculous morons.

Gohmert... and those conjuring up excuses for his stupidity.

MTG is an idiot. You'll get no argument from me.

Trump said many stupid things. Obama said there are 57 states. Biden said poor kids are just as smart as white kids. Politicians saying stupid things is nothing new.

This is not that. Gohmert was trolling the lady, and she knew it.

Gohmert as he did ask if they could do something about the orbits and that they "put it on their radar".

lol

Given that Gohmert was stupid enough to think his mask gave him COVID. A reasonable person would conclude that he did make this conclusion given that he is an idiot.

Admit it, you and yours think that all Repubs or Conservatives are idiots. I suggest that when you look further for the truth, you check the nearest mirror.

I think idiots are idiots. There are plenty of conservatives who are quite intelligent. David Brooks is an example.

He thinks he's being witty, disparaging global warming.

The people who elect people like Gohmert, Trump, or Greene do not culturally value intelligence or education

It really is this simple.

They don't understand the differance between opinion and fact.

Not all. The majority that post here are though.

It appears it was a serious question. BLM is Bureau of Land Management, not Black Lives Matter.

Very magnanimous of you. In that vein, I think the there are plenty of liberals that aren't idiots. Maybe!
Most of them aren't actually.

Blows that theory of "takes one to know one".
I am curious, how many second grade retorts will you try and use in an attempt to make a retort. You realize that neither of us are made of rubber or glue, right?
