Swwwooooossshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...
Aka you cant answer. I’ve already gone over this with multiple sources that have a longer history of research than JW.

Oh but i do understand. Jehovah wasnt meant as the name of god, other biblical scholars understand this.

lol...what is important is what God wants...

  • Those who argue that Almighty God does not need a unique name ignore evidence that early copies of his Word, including those preserved from before the time of Christ, contain God’s personal name. As noted above, God directed that his name be included in his Word some 7,000 times. Obviously, he wants us to know and use his name.

Ummmm you are confused about the argument lol. This is a strawman as i never argued that god did not have a unique name. Its Yahweh. jehovah isnt a proper noun.

Um no, that would be you......using God's name is essential TO HIM in our worship...who cares what an unbeliever thinks, someone who's not seeking to find the true religion?

I didnt say he didnt have a name elvira. Now you are stuck with strawmen when backed into a corner. You obviously care because you are desperately reaching for straws to defend the indefensible. Much like in our previous argument.

lol...you missed the whole point...it doesn't matter what an unbeliever thinks...get it yet?

You’re the one arguing Elvira so you do indeed care. I accept your surrender :)

See how megalomaniacal this jehovah character is?

The true religion is not of this earth. It's in your heart.

So with the mistranslation of the name out of the way, seems we have eliminated one as being the true religion. Lets see about the others. Who cares what a nonbeliever thinks is not an argument, its an admission of defeat.

Did you know...the idea of God not needing/having a personal name originated with pagan philosophy?

Philo

(c. 20-10 B.C.E.–c. 50 C.E.) A Jewish writer and philosopher who lived in Alexandria, Egypt. He was often called Philo of Alexandria, but he was also known as Philo Judaeus because of his Jewish background.

Philo was Greek-speaking, as were many Jews living in Egypt at that time. He used the Greek Septuagint version of the Hebrew Scriptures as the basis for his Biblical studies. His use of certain Greek terms that are also found in the Christian Greek Scriptures may shed light on their meaning and can therefore be of interest to Bible students.—See study note on Mt 19:28.

Philo believed that Judaism was the only true religion, and he sought to lead Gentiles to God by making Judaism acceptable to them. However, he mixed Scripture with Greek philosophy, such as that of Plato. Philo defended the existence of God. At the same time, he claimed that God “has no distinctive qualities” and that God “is incomprehensible,” so calling him by a personal name is impossible.

Philo’s writings were among the influences that led many nominal Christians to adopt the unscriptural doctrine of the immortality of the soul. Moreover, Philo’s teaching on the Logos (or, the Word) contributed to the development of the non-Biblical teaching of the Trinity.

Keep running with that strawman Elvira. Its hilarious to see when you have nothing left.

In finding the true religion, which is what this thread is about, it means everything...you're the one who seems to be presenting the strawman here...

Keep running. You would not have argued with me if my opinion didnt matter. Also its not my opinion, its the opinion of biblical scholars that are more knowledgeable than me :). I didnt say the biblical god didnt have a name. This is what elvira says when they dont have an argument left.

Do I look like I'm running? lol...

No, it requires thinking abilities...
Which you dont do because all that matters is jehovah not your thoughts apparently. You must give up your thinking to please jehovah.
