But the median salary for accountants in the US is only $79K.

I totally agree with you that we should not graduate a student who can’t read or write as most teachers.That is why I think this whole thing is bogus. I don’t believe she can’t read or write.

I have no idea if she is lying or not. I only shared an antidote experience i had with a substitute teacher and retired principle who both agreed with graduating students who were unable to pass their class and they justified their position by saying it was destructive to the student to hold them back so they could learn what was expected of them to know.

Actually, I agree. If the kid doesn’t meet the standards, that kid should not be promoted. It is happening too often. I remember one year my principal came in and told me to pass one of the top athletes in the school. I remember saying to her that he was failing in my class and I refused to pass him.she smiled at me and said she knew I would say that

Them theme of the movie was all a women had to do to get ahead was be attractive.

Yes, we’ve had this discussion, but can you clarify it for me? Why do you suppose teaching that was predominantly female were paid less than most professionalsI. New York City, where I taught, as soon as men started coming into high schools “by coincidence,” the salaries went up.
I remember how elementary school teachers would fight for high school teachers to get more money because they work harder. Then I went to middle school and I realized that elementary school teachers actually had a harder job.

I'm paid well. I'm not poor or even close to poor. I work in a low-income district and probably make at least two times what most of the parents make. A lot more than that for others.

It should not be a controversial opinion to expect students to know the materials before progressing to next grade.

I honestly don't understand the argument that it's worse for the student to stay behind than sending them to a higher grade I'll equipped for the new materials. Not only does it put that student at a disadvantage which is probably demoralizing for that student but it also holds back the entire class if a teacher has to teach things they should have already known before getting to that grade.

After COVID IMO it would have been prudent to hold everyone back 1 or even 2 years if necessary and get them back on track. At the very least conduct a test to determine who can move forward and who needed extra time in their current grade.

Harvard did not accept women until the 1970s what you are confusing yourself with is that they created Radcliffe, which was an all girl school. Harvard was the networking school and women who went to Radcliffe did not have that access.you know “separate but equal “ lol
As far as Princeton is concerned, The big decision came in early 1969, when the Board voted to admit women undergraduates for a “better balance of social and intellectual life” — just a few months after Yale had a similar vote. It happened because of a lawsuit. Women who are in their 70s could not have applied there.
Why do you suppose all these changes happened? Never underestimate the power of women.
