He does? Saul was not a desciple of Jesus. He did not attend Jesus' sermons. He not only never even met Jesus, but he persecuted those who followed Jesus. How is it, again, that he speaks for Jesus?
Seems to me that if one truly respects Jesus, one would honor Him by figuring he was a sharp enough to know what was important and what was just the stuff of social convention. If the Son of God is so incapable of prioritizing, then who among us should really follow suit. eh?
Well I don't agree on abortion purely along secular lines. That however is for another thread.
The fact is if we as Christians do not preach the message of Gods love, we are not preaching the correct message. We should be preaching that immorality separates you from Gods love. and puts your soul in danger. Not that homosexuals are bad people or deserving of death.
I do not support same sex marriage either but we have a secular government. It is the responsibility of our government to protect the minority form the majority.
Jesus preached we are to lead by example. He gave us a guide for our spiritual salvation, not a system of government.
I am all over the place now. I am done.
ALL religion is oppresive! Christains don't run countries like Muslims do b/c they are not theoracies!
I'm trying to discern where you stand on the issue of homosexuality. Would you enlighten me please?
As I always say: Hate the sin, not the sinner.
IMO, nobody ever told anyone to hate sin. Sin is simply not adhering to God's rules. It doesn't make sense to hate it. It's like hating it when somebody cheats at a game. Someone can hate cheating all they want, but that isn't going to make the cheater atone for doing it and it isn't going to bring either person any closer to their God.

Sin is sin and none is more "perverse" than the others. Please point out where in the Bible it says to turn your back on those who have sinned? Their is indeed twisting going on here, but not by me.
Romans 5: 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
Do I really have to keep going?
No you don't, but giving homosexuality a place of honor is also not required to fulfill the commandments of Jesus. If all sins are equal, then we shouldn't jail anyone. Nevertheless should homosexuals receive the death penalty? Of course not.
Homosexuality is a perverse sin that must be preached against. Just because no one is harmed... does not make it not a sin.
Punishable by death? No, NO, NO!!! There is no debate as to whether they should or should not be killed; Imo this thread should be locked since trolls keep screwing up the poll. The government in whatever that country is is misinformed; death shouldn't be an option.
Homosexuality is neither one of the lesser or greater sins. I rank homosexuality below abortion and above stem cell research. To say we all sin (which we do), and make it seem as though all are equal, then one must think they all should have the same punishment.

It is this thought process which leads to violence against Gays in Africa. Rejection of Gays leads to demonization of them and ends up in violence.
Religion: Proudly ****ing up the world for 2000 years and counting :doh
Your thinking is perverse, unfounded, and just plain wrong. Read my post history and gain understanding, lest I consider you an ignorant fool.
Oh no I understood it.
But it is that first thought process (which I helpfully highlighted, guess you didn't notice) that homosexuality is a sin and being gay is perverse which leads to demonization of gays because holy text rejects them. Have you understood what I have said?
Both Christianity and Islam are responsible for this hatred of Gays in Africa and both religions play a part as to why Uganda has passed this bill. Well, more Christianity in Uganda because the country is majority Christian
@ Blackdog: So we should conform to the government's rules and not fight for God's rules in a civil, passive, and legal way?
What if the government were to penalize Christianity? Would you still hold to your "render unto Cesar" thing?
But government can be disgusting and immoral. See Nazism, communism, socialism, and various tyrants/dictators/despots of our past. You think we should be eradicated should such governments declare it? By your argument, if we even flee, we do wrong; that supposedly we must follow said government's demands.
