This administration is so damn incompetent.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem fell victim to a thief while eating dinner at a downtown Washington, DC, restaurant Sunday night, two sources familiar with the incident, including a law enforcement source, told CNN.​

The Secret Service, which provides security for Noem, reviewed security camera footage at the restaurant and saw an unknown white male wearing a medical mask steal her bag and leave the restaurant.​

Seems security didn't get it done. Yeah, I wonder what she had $3,000 in her bag, but then my grandchildren know I carry a little "extra" cash in case they want something at a ball game or a quick stop at Wal Mart. Maybe that's just Kristi's stash for emergencies.
 
She was eating in the restaurant. Did the person just walk by her table while she was sitting there and grab her bag?
 
Don't take what isn't yours. If everybody followed that advice, the country would be a lot better off.

Tell you what, though. I'm getting very pissed off about what psychopathic billionaires are trying to do to my livelihood and retirement.
 
The thief got away with Noem’s driver’s license, medication, apartment keys, passport, DHS access badge, makeup bag, blank checks, and about $3,000 in cash, the law enforcement source said.


The Secret Service has launched an investigation to trace any use of Noem’s financial instruments, the person said.
 
fake news? (sarcasm)

Would like to see more information that is currently available.
- How did the SS agents not see the medical masked thief take the purse and leave?
- Where was the purse and why did Noem not notice the person taking the purse?

Wonder how long before some of the SS agents involved are transferred or fired

I would not be surprised if she had 3K in a bag that costs 3K. She wears a very pricey Rolex. I wonder where all that spending $ comes from?

Look at all the plastic surgery she's had.
She's getting money somewhere......probably skimming some from the "government cuts" from DOGE and Mush.

Noem would have been better off if she had stayed in South Dakota.

I was just going to say this. State police and lots of small town hillbilly cops would have confiscated it as 'suspected drug money'
Quite a racket. They take the cash knowing most people cant afford to fight in court to get it back.

Especially out-of-staters. Way back when I was buying and selling antiques, and traveling interstate, I would contact somebody at my destination, and ask them to mail or fax me a bill in the amount I expected to travel with. That way there was a record that the cash I was carrying with me was intended to pay a debt. It wouldn't guarantee the law wouldn't try to confiscate it, but it would all but guarantee that a judge would make them give the money back.
