No, because investigations happen AFTER shootings occur. He wants to prevent the shootings in the first place. Thus, he believes that the laws that cause the increase in indefensible shootings ought to be nixed.ahh, then what he really wants is better investigating by LEO...

I don't move onto other topics until I resolve the original debate. You can answer my question and resolve our original debate. After that, we can move onto your civil rights question.

What case? The Zimmerman case? What does SYG have to do with this case?
Me too.Good luck with that one....I'd like to see him try to get it changed.
this is a state matter and none of holder's business.
What case? The Zimmerman case?
Well, he made it his business. Oh well. This is a State matter and none of Holder's business.
I'll believe Holder in being sincere in his position when he calls on law enforcement to have a duty to retreat from violent criminals...
Well, he made it his business. Oh well.
I was confused because instead of quoting the OP, you quoted a post where Zimmerman wasn't being mentioned at all.Well, that is what the AG was trying to address...
Don't ask me. Ask him.On what grounds?

It has begun.

Congratulations. This, again, is off topic and, in turn, random. As an American I have the right to defend myself, my family, and my property. That right is granted me by God, not politicians....Period.
Okay, well he's not in prison now. And given that he is the Attorney General, you should probably care about what he has to say since his actions might affect you. But, if you don't care, then that's better for him because that's one less person he has to deal with in his quest to reexamine SYG.I don't give a crap what a guy that should not be in his position, but rather in prison, has to say. He has always been anti-gun for civilians, and always will work to those ends.

In any case, while Zimmerman didn't specifically invoke SYG, language from the law was included in the jury instructions and Juror B37, who spoke to the media yesterday, said that they considered it in deliberations. Beyond that, many people who feel that Zimmerman's actions were inappropriate believe that SYG laws facilitate actions like his moreso than regular self-defense laws.

Did I say otherwise? I'm not sure why you think this comment is relevant as a response to my post.Actually SYG laws require instructions as to aggression by either party which, since that was not addressed, is the reason for some other threads here.
If you are trying to argue about the Zimmerman trial, this is not the thread to do that. There is an entire forum dedicated to that. I put this in "Breaking News" for a reason. What inappropriate actions were taken other than those performed by the aggressor?

If the racial makeup were reversed, George Zimmerman would have been convicted and Holder would still be making the same argument.I think if the racial makeup of TM and GZ were reversed, Mr. Holder would be praising the Stand Your Ground concept.
