People used sock puppets accounts on the previous place I posted but never heard anybody actually using VPN to post on a forum. That is a bit overkill.

Pro-Putin posters from Russia typically do not want folks to realize their country of origin.

They would prefer their accounts to appear European and sautéed in a natural grassroots support for Putin.

Hence, a VPN account. That way, the Russian tricolor flag does not appear under their username.

There are quite a few Europeans from a variety of different countries. Of course there are plenty from the US and almost half of the Canadian population posts on this board.

The communists well outnumber the fascists (when you can tell them apart) and from a US perspective, it’s a leftish leaning group of posters. Never attack the poster (especially if they or their friends behave like snowflakes). It is well moderated and people seem to get along.

With my limited posting on this forum, I see that you have American definition of communism. They are not really communists or I probably missed the topics. On the old place there were old school communists and a lot of them. Trotskyists and Stalinists etc and not the modern version of tankies/hard leftists who are incoherent and flip flop.

But i might be wrong, may be I have not seen the right topics yet.

For my post, I used the term communist in the academic sense describing people who never experienced but think it’s a not so bad to great idea.

Usually, I rely the definition of communism that my family (parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins) members use after having lived under such a system for much or most of their lives.

It's now a synonym for anyone "left" of MAGA, including traditional Republicans or conservatives.
