If one says they are trans they are trans. Informed consent clinics allow cross sex hormones and some allow surgery with no vetting whatsoever. This is also not a left/right issue. Many "right"(republicans) do support trans people but many also use the topic to ridicule the "left" based on some of the more radical examples of trans activism.
