Aldi is nearly everywhere in the world

Aldi is what Kroger would be if Kroger hated their customers and had a shitty selection of brands. Aldi is proof of the adage that you get what you pay for.

Somone asked this same question on USMB.

Weird.

Anyway, I have shopped there. I don't like it. They don't let you take the shopping cart out into the parking lot and they don't bag your groceries or even provide you with bags.

My wife likes it, I don't really.

We don't have an ALDI on LI that I know of but I have shopped at one in Pennsylvania. Don't remember being impressed either one way or the other by it.

We do have a LIDL within walking distance. Compared to the US supermarket that was there before, which had a dedicated cheese guy and dedicated fish guy, it is very Spartan. Also odd in that it sells clothes, shoes and car stuff alongside food. The variety is also definitely lacking compared to the Stop and Shop up the road or even the, much smaller, Spanish language community supermarket that I usually shop at. My wife doesn't like it aside from the selection of flowers and plants which she thinks is great. It's convenient so if pressed for time I'll go there.

Love Aldi!

Their produce is excellent and their prices for your shelf stable stuff are always really good.

The meat department sucks, but that’s not why I go there

And the AOS (aisle of shame) often has cute seasonal items really cheap.

Better in Europe. I don't get the full ALDI experience because the "live free or die" state tightly controls alcohol distribution.

Yes. It's on our normal shopping rounds.

I like Aldi cheapo breakfast sandwiches. Their bag meals are good, too, and they have stollen at Christmas.

No. We do our grocery shopping at H.E.B. and WalMart.

My wife goes to Aldi about once a week for certain items. Fresh produce is better there (the celery puts every other store to shame), and we really like their brioche hamburger buns. Desserts are decent and cheap.

In SoCal I shooped at Aldi alot. I loved their fresh salmon and ribeyes, and beers. And they always had some nice frozen seafood selections. No ALDI close to where I live now. WinCo is a great subsitute though.

My local Aldi has alcohol. I buy wine to cook with at Aldi because its less than $5.00 a bottle and decent. I shop at Aldi about once ever 2 weeks.

I like the croissant breakfast sandwiches. They have a great selection of imported cheese.

Aldi is great, but not all of the items are - so it's a bit of trial and error. There are some great finds and some not so great finds. The best part about it is that I can walk in, get what I need for a meal or two, and walk out in about 5-10 minutes (also why I much prefer Ace Hardware to Home Depot).

Produce is hit or miss at my store. Can get a bag of lemons for less than half what Publix charges, but the more perishible greens are often already wilting or browned. Cut chicken doesn't have the best flavor, but whole chickens are $6 and taste far better than any cut chicken anyway.

So, that is a yes to the OP question?

I love the stuff at Aldi's. For over 2 decades now.

My favorite is still old-school Trader Joe's. Not so much what it's morphed into now. But used to be small, cheap, quality and everything I needed in a tiny store.

Kroger is the land of "Price - just 7 for just $9.83 with your super special Kroger "savings card." Don't have time for that BS. Only time I ever go to Kroger is if I need a more specialized ingredient. They're more likely to have it than most other stores.

No, because I live out in the middle of nowhere.

For some perspective on that, New Mexico (the US State I live in) is 88% the size of Germany, with a population of 2.1 million, as opposed to Germany's 82.3 million.
Just took a road trip through there not too long ago. Had to stop at a "Blake's Lotaburger" in one town because it was late and none of the picks I had were open.

I'd go back to NM just for another one of those Green Chile Cheeseburgers. 😂😂
