That's because you are not tolerant of all races. Tolerance towards all races with zero prejudices is unnatural.
I'd love for you to prove this statement.
My thoughts exactly.
Why is it that these people have these engrained gender and race prejudices, and feel like everyone else should have to accomodate them? They issue these proclamations as if they're factual. It's kind of ridiculous, really.
IMO it's because it makes them feel better about their own 'isms' if they believe that everyone is afflicted with the same issues.
Ok, fair enough. Replace "intolerant" to "prejudice". I was attempting the PC version and was hoping it'd spark more honest debate and not a bunch of "OMG I'M NOT RACIST!".
When I make comments about Jews in accounting or Chinese in engineering, that's racism. Jallman's comment about female Asian drivers is prejudiced. I just don't like to use those two words because it puts people on the defensive and triggers massive amounts of denial as opposed to having rational and open debate about it.
Always I am treated differently than others because I am a smart looking white man. Cashiers and waiters and bank clerks and police officers always treat me with a respect that many others don't receive. I guess that's some sort of racism.
Intrestingly enough I'm actually about half-Native, but it isn't all that obvious. Maybe I should have gone ahead an got my tribal affiliation a long time ago, then I could have been an oppressed minority.
Lol! Sometimes i think the same thing. Sometimes i wonder how things woulda been if i would of claimed my Cherokee affiliation. I think you only have to have 19% Native in you to file a claim?(at least that's what I've heard) My aunt says we were crazy not to claim the affiliation but my parents never went for that "were oppressed" crap.
As long as I'm in good with Chief Cashes My Chips, I'm good.
You don't have any prejudices towards anyone? Just be honest.
I already was honest about it, but according to your one post if one claims that they aren't racist, then they're the most racist of all.
Why in the world would anyone HAVE to have prejudices? It just makes no sense.
I think a statement made earlier is somewhat accurate.I already was honest about it, but according to your one post if one claims that they aren't racist, then they're the most racist of all.

I think sexism may be more prevalent than racism. To answer the question - I have experienced it first hand as many here have.. but I've witnessed it more often than I've experienced it.
I've encountered sexism much more than racism.

Everyone has prejudices, racist leanings, etc.
However you want to describe them.
But IMO, you are not prejudiced/racist/bigoted/whatever unless you allow those things to factor into your decisions as facts.
In other words, if you recognize that you may be prejudiced in some way, you can factor that into your decision making process, and thus hopefully in the end eliminate any bias in your final decision...if you make one.

Have You Ever Experienced Racism? If so, please feel free to share about it here.
I think people would be shocked if they knew the number of peoples who are subjected to racism on a daily basis.
