GOP Senator Defends White Nationalists: ‘I Call Them Americans’

This is what you get when you dont abolish certain classes and certain reigns of power. Those who held it will brutally claw their way back.

And why should he not? I remember Howard Dean formerly a front runner for
the Democratic nomination for president, a while ago when the Democrat party held
sensible views disparaged the republican party as the 'white party'

After all, why should Republicans be ashamed to represent the progeny of the men who
founded, built & defended America since the birth of the nation!

Because they lie about who ACTUALLY BUILT America...it wasn't just white people.
Every foreign race in the world contributed enormous effort, from the Chinese "coolies" who helped build the first railroads to criss-cross the continent, to the heavily reviled Italian and Irish who built most of our major cities, to the black slave laborers who built The Capitol, the White House, and laid almost every brick in every building in Washington DC's federal district, to hispanics who who for decades did all the backbreaking labor on our farms, in our vineyards and much more.
It is very VERY interesting that you chose to use "the birth of the nation" as a closing sentence.

"Tommy Tuberville, a United States senator from Alabama, defended white nationalism during an interview with a local NPR affiliate on Monday, AL.com has reported.

WBHM Birmingham asked Tuberville if white nationalists should be allowed to serve in the military. “They call them that,” the senator responded. “I call them Americans.”

Tuberville had explicitly defended “white extremists” and “white nationalists” earlier in the interview, alleging that President Biden is “destroying” the military by opposing their inclusion.

Deplorable. When they show you who they are, believe them.

This is the same guy you claimed Black Americans are “the people who do the crime”
He doesn’t want to lose any of his voters.

Was Hitler a 'rebel', or an ignorant psychopath?
More like a counter revolutionary. You cant be a rebel if you are trying to be like your grandparents, you’re fitting in.

That would make him a rebel not a nationalist.

The two are not necessarily mutually exclusive.
Nationalist rebellion is every bit as much a rebellion as rebellion against tyrannical colonization by foreign potentate.
The former is part and parcel of "The Business Plot" and the January 6 Insurrection while the latter is our own Revolutionary War against the British and I am not quite sure that you can understand the difference between the two because you discount democracy to the point where you don't appear to give it any legitimacy as regards the criminality of both The Business Plot and January 6th.
It is clear that you hold both these insurrections as equal to the Revolutionary War, which would put you squarely in Putin's corner.
Why? Well, if Russia were to succeed enough in an attack on America to colonize us again, your current views would equate Trump-Putin sympathizers with the people who attempted to overturn the 2020 election.

Keep defending these hypernationalistic insurrectionists and pretty soon you're going to need a lens installed in your belly button so you can see where you're going.
It's obvious you're not alone, there's an entire clique in this forum that should visit a "very special LensCrafters store".
Like you, they side with Trump's lies, Putin's grand scheme, domestic terrorists, insurrectionists and white supremacists.

I don't doubt it. Maybe it hits too close to home?

You are going to have to come up with a better source than a guy who admits in his first sentence--

"One of the occupational hazards of being a college opinion columnist is that, during your undergraduate years, many of your thoughts are liable to be stupid."

I'll wait for you to use your own words and thoughts instead of being a tool who watches some idiotic video.

You could probably use a few moments to form a response to the Disney video.

I don't blame ya. If I were in your shoes, I would appreciate it. :)

This isn't going to happen because if you're too lazy to offer at least a basic summary of what the video is trying to say, I'm too lazy to watch the video.
This is a DEBATE forum and good debaters don't just say "Here, watch THIS"...they introduce the multimedia with a short summary.
It wouldn't be a big deal if the video was a minute or two, but a twenty minute time sink merits some lead-in.

Soooooo....... what kinda shoes you wearing?

I normally just wear boots, but I've felt the desire to dress up now and then.

When the white nationalists show themselves, believe them.

Someone should explain to Senator Tuberville the difference between “patriotism” and “nationalism”….
