The National Republican Congressional Committee wants to make sure there are no Todd Akin-style gaffes next year, so it’s meeting with top aides of sitting Republicans to teach them what to say — or not to say — on the trail, especially when their boss is running against a woman.
Speaker John Boehner is serious, too. His own top aides met recently with Republican staff to discuss how lawmakers should talk to female constituents.

“Let me put it this way, some of these guys have a lot to learn,” said a Republican staffer who attended the session in Boehner’s office.

There have been “multiple sessions” with the NRCC where aides to incumbents were schooled in “messaging against women opponents,” one GOP aide said.

While GOP party leaders have talked repeatedly of trying to “rebrand” the party after the 2012 election losses, the latest effort shows they’re not entirely confident the job is done.

So they’re getting out in front of the next campaign season, heading off gaffes before they’re ever uttered and risk repeating the 2012 season, when a handful of comments let Democrats paint the entire Republican Party as anti-woman.

Boehner urged his colleagues Thursday in response to this POLITICO story to “be a little more sensitive” when running against women.

:lamo You cant make this **** up!

I am trying to figure out what your point is.
Given how the MSM is mainly cheerleaders for the Dems and will use even innocent statements that can be twisted against the GOP, this seems to make sense if your goal is to win close elections.

After hearing how ofailure can't bother to even be meeting with his Health and Human Services Director, never met with his jobs council, and can't follow the rules of government .... But manages to get a lame stream media to cover for him I can see why Republicans would meet and conspire. They don't want to fall victim to idiot spins even when they are right and the media spins it.

Wonder why?

HE should have called her what she really is

a spoiled J.A.P. whose daddy war bucks husband bought his pampered twit of a wife a senate seat.

Better yet he should have said Yes you MEGABITCH

what a $(%*# that POS is

Is there anything you don't blame on Obama? It's gonna be below zero here tonight. Thanks Obama!

Seriously, I don't see why the GOP wouldn't coach their candidates. It seems fairly obvious to me that you would do that if you want to win elections. :shrug

No the temp is al gores fault!

And just how is this any different from the "sensitivity training" that many of us have to go through in the workplace? Sorry, but it's just not a big deal.

I like how the Republican party's plan was to rebrand their message, to make it seem less racist and misogynistic, as opposed to changing their message, so that it can actually be less racist and misogynistic. The whole response makes it clear that they know what they're doing wrong, and aren't really trying to fix it.

how exactly is the GOP Message "racist" or misogynistic"

I realize that the left wants to brand the GOP as both

true, some anti abortion extremists are misogynistic though most are not and there is nothing in the GOP platform that is racist-unlike the DNC support for affirmative racism

many far lefties claim a program that is in favor of individual rights hurts blacks and is thus racist. You know the difference between disparate impact and disparate treatment and the best you can argue is the former but you cannot establish intent from that

SYG laws-often supported by the GOP are branded "racist" by those who assume that most victims of SYG will be blacks and most of those who defend a defensive shooting will by white. But that is both stupid and essentially racist as well

maybe we can come up with some rap on these boards and get feedback from conservative women? i don't mind practicing my rap along with my bumper sticker philosophy.

It makes sense to work on strategies that appeal to your constituents and discuss how to best present your message. I'm pretty sure democrats have had extensive training on "how to appeal to idiots".

So is it offensive to call a male senator "sir?"

Or is this another one of double standards that we don't question?

This is a military officer not saying what he is really thinking in the moment would be my guess.

It's racist when your party keeps saying that black people vote Democrat because they just want handouts. It was basically official GOP platform in the last election.

I don't see the big deal. I'm sure the left has little training camps for indoctrinating their Obama youth candidates. :p

Its accurate. And you really don't understand racism
