A new global survey has found a vast improvement in views of the United States since the election of President Barack Obama.
Europeans, in particular, seemed to be responding positively to Mr. Obama. The number of Britons saying that they trusted the American president to do the “right thing” in world affairs soared to 86 percent this year, under Mr. Obama, compared with just 16 percent last year, under President George W. Bush. The increase was slightly larger in both Germany and France.
I don't care what the rest of the world thinks. We're not responsible for or to them. I care about performance and how the President is doing in regards to America and our freedom, our liberty, and our Constitution. And as such, we haven't had anything decent in decades. The world can think Obama is the greatest thing since slice bread. He still hasn't done anything good as President, nor improved our lot, lessened government, gotten us out of occupational wars, etc. They can say "Oh Obama is great", or think that he is so much better than Bush; but they are fools for thinking so and it shows how little actual information their opinion is generated from. Obama is on par with Bush, just as bad if you ask me.
Obama is all smoke and mirrors, once you try to take an actual measurement you see that nothing has changed at all.

Despite the braying of ditto-heads in America, the nation's reputation has improved under the new President. Pooh on you.

No, Bush and Cheney also didn't care what the rest of the world thought of their actions. Well guess what, most of us do. Most of us are proud when America is respected around the world, and looked up to. That doesn't make them fools, we were the fools for allowing Republicans to ruin America's reputation.
The president just like all the other scum in office are our elected representatives,so what ever they do they do in our name and on our behalf. So the president tossing the salad of Eurotrash and terrorist sympathizers is really we the people tossing the salad of eurotrash and terrorist sympathizers and other degenerate scum. I do not give a damn if the rest of the world likes us. We should cut off all foreign aid and if we have any military installations we should move them back to the US so our troops can spend their money on American soil and defend American soil.
Fortunately, you will be out of sight in your 12' X 12' cabin in the wilds of Montana, holed up with your firearms, your bible, and an 8 year cache of supplies. Now, if we can only cut off your internet connection...
Are you trying to suggest that those do not think it is the president's job to try to get the rest of the world to like us somehow they must be crazy?
Let me get this straight....Despite the braying of ditto-heads in America, the nation's reputation has improved under the new President. Pooh on you.
A President should work in the interests of the US.
How is a President supposed to achieve that if he is viewed as a retard and and is hated?
I could care less that a bunch of a eurotrash view my president as a retard. It is not the president's job to kiss your ass,the only ass he should be kissing is the voters who put him in office.

This is a personal attack, a few days later and we'll see another thread in the basement, "why I was suspended 2".

Obama is viewed mostly positively, but attitudes toward America generally are not improving much, if at all, in most countries.
Look at your signature. Why are you posting this thread?http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/24/world/24survey.html?_r=1&hp
