Germany makes the worlds best cars!

Agreed.

Perhaps France, Germany, Spain and the UK (forget Italy) should cooperate on a Tornado or Sea King replacement (TBH I have no idea what the various militaries need) and award EADS the same subsidies that Boeing receive.

The EADS A400M military cargo plane sort of fills that role, grossly overbudget

No, Italian cars are the bestest... Maserati, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bugatti..

And they have good food, too. You don't!;)

and Italian chicks are nicer too, that is until they start having kids then they look like their mothers - fat!!!!

V22 Osprey in partnership with Bell

The EU's arguement regarding the subsidies was that Boeing was indirectly subsidized through the military expenditures. Meaning the Airbus subsidizies were just to make up for the ones Boeing has been receiving for decades.

Making military aircraft and getting paid for it, is not a subsidy.

Depends on how much they are getting paid.

If they are getting over and above what would be realistic market rates for the planes it sells to the US government, they can use that money to subsidize its commercial plane development
