Yes, dictators and fascists usually declare it to be illegal to oppose them.Illegal.
Many people have dealt with this same situation in the past. What is striking about this day and age is the outlets for reform have been either too small or reforms have been well too little/too late. Reforms work best in an era where slow change can happen to meet the needs of people, however, what we see now is a heavily entrenched system that is fully prepared to drag everyone into a death spiral to keep their hold on power. Such ruling class needs more than taxing, they need to be overthrown. How to seize wealth of the donor class: Tax The Rich More.
We can do that as soon as we wrench Congress away from the donor class and claim it back for the general populace.
That requires a long process of individual action. It's delayed gratification, but there is no other practical method.
Everyone can help. Simply demand that your local town and county council pass the American Anti-Corruption Act, or a resolution in support of it. When that has passed in enough places it becomes a national issue and candidates can run on it and win without big money from the donor class. We, the people, have to get involved if we want government to answer to we, the people. It's just that simple.
We can do this. This is how. We work within the system. The only things delaying this goal are apathy and propaganda.
Opposition is one thing. Chopping people's heads off is quite another.Yes, dictators and fascists usually declare it to be illegal to oppose them.
It's how freedom is achieved. First you try words, persuasion. If that doesn't work, you try organized peaceful protests. If that doesn't work, the protests get less peaceful.Opposition is one thing. Chopping people's heads off is quite another.

If that doesn't work, you start killing people until you get what you need.

The pathway to wrenching government control away from the rich begins with community action. Individuals wishing to improve America should get involved with local city and county councils. Ask them if they support corruption or not. Place them on record. For corruption or against. It is that simple. Then, when they profess to be opposed to corruption, implore them to pass the American Anti-Corruption Act, or at least a resolution in support of it.Many people have dealt with this same situation in the past. Covid 19 has taught me a great deal of absolutely horrid things about our society.
We should not give up on reform but i think we should also build systems of community support that operate outside the system in case reform fails and the donor class starts getting real ugly or panics.
