Gaddafi says Nigeria should split into several states

You've lost me at "Gaddafi says".
 
He said Nigeria should follow the model of Yugoslavia, after previously saying it should be divided into two - along the lines of India and Pakistan.

Gadaffi is the strangest person. He differs from someone like Saddam in that he genuinely believes that he is working for the good.

If it were not for the dark side of his actions I would see him as something of a character.

I was reading something yesterday, I think about his views on Iran and Nukes - he had been asked to ask them if they could be encouraged not to go ahead - anyway at one time he said that he found it all very difficult. There was such a difference in the mentality of the West and what he knew, Libya of course isolated for years.

Calling for a jihad on the Swiss will not make him many friends.

He does differ from a lot of Leaders under similar regimes in that he is a complicated person and I am not sure someone who lacks humanity.:bolt

I cannot imagine that he has any iota of Humanity in his makeup.
He has presided over a Terrorist Nation for many years, he supplied a constant stream of guns / explosives / ammunition to the IRA (Irish Republican Army) which allowed them to murder over 3000 people.
In addition he funded several Jehadist groups.
He is just someone who attained a certain rank in the Lybian Army and then conducted a coup against his own government. After taking power he naturally awarded himself an extra rank or 2, loaded the front of his uniform with a variety of metalworks (some of which look like they appeared in a variety of cereal packets, none of which he earned, but boy to him they sure look good)
He had some of his minions murder a British Policewoman outside the Libyan Embassy in London.
And he was deeply involved in the blowing up of Flight 101 over Lockerbie in Scotland.
Should someone put a bullet in him they would be doing the world a favor.

Nigeria has accused Col Gaddafi of "grandstanding".

Gaddafi is still upset that the African Union would not recognize the brilliancy of his leadership abilities and elect him President of that organization.

Given that many of Nigeria problems are attributable to genocidal attempts to prevent secession rather then succession itself I hate to admit that Gaddafi has a point here.
 
I think half of what Gaddafi says is just for the lulz.

I have not a clue why his diplomats murdered Yvonne Fletcher. Why Gadaffi would order this is beyond me. He could just have decided to shut his embassy himself. Makes no sense. Yes, someone from the Libyan Embassy shot her, but why? No sense at all.

I had forgotten the Lockerbie bombings when I wrote this, though it also has to be said that although two people were found guilty and they were Libyan, that trial is being highly questioned. I hope for the relatives and friends that it will be re opened so that they hopefully can find the truth.

If he organised that, then yes, that clearly was a bad thing. But again why would he do it?

As for the IRA, well if perhaps the US had not allowed the collection of money for the IRA, Libya would not have been able to sell them arms.

I think there are more concerning things about him - people disappearing in Libya and that sort of thing which I know little about.

However several years ago I read a book he had written. I didn't agree with him but I could understand where he was coming from. From his viewpoint there was sanity in what he did and his viewpoint was basically that of a freedom fighter.

Despite all the edemic corruption, one thing I found all Nigerians to be unified on was not to go down the route of civil war again.

Nigeria will start to recover as a country once the oil runs out, not before unless they really can sort out the corruption that runs so deep.
 
I think Gaddafi should be split up and hidden in different states :mrgreen: The world would be better without the guy.

Gaddafi is such a joke lol. I remember years ago in South Africa when he talked about creating the United States of Africa, with him as president :rofl

Oh man, he must smoke so much weed all day.
