Fox News Management Fed Up With Mistakes

Today, FishbowlDC posted a Fox News memo acknowledging "a series of mistakes on FNC in recent months" and pledging to "quality check everything before it makes air, and we never having [sic] to explain, retract, qualify or apologize again." The memo added that "[m]istakes by any member of the show team that end up on air may result in immediate disciplinary action" and "jobs are on the line here."

Good they are taking it serious. Lets see if they can deliver.

However they might want to spread the word a bit to all their stations in the Fox Family.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rbyhj8uTT8&feature=player_embedded"]YouTube- Fox Chicago's shows fuzzy math GOP candidate support pie chart[/ame]

So, the GOP has 170% support in the 2012 election? :rofl

Now that is funny...

Which is precisely the way it ought to be! Perhaps the think tank at Fox finally snapped to the fact that their work product is out there for public consumption and subject to review. Not to mention stupid mistakes only fuel the whole Fox News conspiracy theorist bellies. Eh Whip & Pete?

Actually they are trying to charge for everything now. They are even trying to strike a deal with with Microsoft now to to get them delistited from google.

Yes this is true, they are following the trend and given the death (or looming death) of the daily newspaper and print news, they are hardly alone in this regard. I admit I fail to see the relevance though.

They actually have to have something to charge for now other than infotainment.

It just occured to me that this approach could mean that Media Matters, Think Progress and all the websites that link to and use their video feeds will have to pay as well, or face the consequences. Hmmmmmmm, Murdoch is more savvy than many give him credit for.;)

How cute is that? They are trying to distance management from the fear monger pundits they carry. ;)

No not really, in fact the Fox OCD crowd could crow that Fox has now acknowledged amateurish mistakes. They need not disatnce themselves from any pundits as all that speech is preceded by the obligatory "op/ed disclaimer" that has been around for quite some time now.:2razz:

Ah, the truth loop hole. Touche my friend!

To those who continue to lament FoxNews' "fair and balance" mistakes as errors, omissions, oversights, SNAFU, etc., all I can say to this admission by the FoxNews execs is, "In yo' face". :neener

The deceptions finally caught up to this news network and management has had enough. Good for them.

Yes yes and for the sake of an internet argument, try vainly to pass "mistakes" of as "conspiracy based deception!." Chuckle.

Now if only CNN, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, ect. would be as honest......... Naaaaaa.

Actually, I think all the news teams should report on "each other" more often to keep everyone in check. Wouldn't that be interesting?

It is really kinda sad how it took a comedy show to prove FoxNews stupidity.

:monkey

I agree! However then the the other news stations will do nothing but keeping Fox in check!

Unsure about that; money talks.

If one of the big 5 called out ABC/NBC/FOX during prime time when they fouled up - the teams would start to monitor themselves much more accurately. The same would apply for any of the oligarchical mass media groups.

I said before, this coming decade is the "war on big news". The group that decides to take charge to monitor others and call them out in prime time first will become the victor plus we get better accuracy to boot. This is simply because we are in the information age.

Good. I hope the other news outlets will follow their lead.

"Fox News Management" is a refreshingly honest title. Let's hope their new found integrity lasts.

It's posturing -- Roger Ailes is a political operative running a "news" network. He wants editors and graphics departments to be more careful about getting caught -- polished your propaganda.
