"Four San Francisco protesters hit by car in ‘possible intentional act’..."

It’s generally against the law to walk down the middle of the street. Unless there is no sidewalk, then you can walk on the side of the road.
My experience with protests has been we took to the streets. Sidewalks just aren't wide enough for thousands of people.

Some people really need to talk themselves into seeing demonstration as inherently criminal. Not when it's Amon Bundy, redhats hunting for VPs to hang, or spittle-lipped screechers terrorizing women's health patients, mind. Just everyone else.

Is "Taco" supposed to be some kind of a dig at the president? lol.

The disruptive "protests" have had zero impact on his policy. That change is tied to agriculture and other business interests giving feedback to the administration.
They must have not covered TACO on Faux NotNews. 😂

Seems like the peaceful opposition to Trump's Stalin moment is riling up the street level fascists.
Echoes of the 'Unite the Right' murder?

Or they can stay off the road and actually protest, rather than obstructing traffic and harassing motorists.
That's how protests work, not by writing polite letters to whoever. The whole point of protests is to make a point, and if Kevin is slightly inconvenienced and a bit late for dinner, so what?

You just had to throw in the last part. Were you expecting 200,000 thousand folks to stay on the sidewalks in LA?
200,000? lol. Exaggerate much?

No, protests should be in parks and other public areas. Perhaps a street if the city has closed it for that purpose.

When you look at past big protests, most were in the streets of America but we never talked about running the protesters over until trump. You folks are the ones with no respect for human life. You have a brevard county sheriff telling folks life you as much as throw a stone we'll kill you. Is that the America you want to live in?
No one is suggesting it here. It's coming up because of this more recent tactic of swarming roadways and assaulting people in cars.

However you need to cope, man. [deflection removed]
Huh? How is this a response to pointing out that no one has advocated what you are suggesting?

I'm not interested in name calling. Take care.

These protests were planned across the country.

Where I was, the streets were CLOSED by the police.

People do know enough to go and get permits and such that will allow streets to be CLOSED TO TRAFFIC.

Happens regularly here for various things.

Go around them. Real simple 🤷‍♀️

The point of a protest is to win people over - not to piss them off. To make a statement.

Obstructing traffic doesn't win anyone over. It's stupid and counterproductive. And it's breaking the law. Protest in an appropriate location.
The point of a protest is to show how many people are against a misjustice.

Lying about what was the sheriff said is not doing anything but embarrassing yourself.

Whether something is a 'misjustice' is in the eyes of the beholder. Some may not view enforcing of the law - fair application of justice - as a misjustice.

No, protests are to show support for a side - to persuade people to support your cause.

Who are the scumbags, if I may be able to ask without being wrestled off of dp?
People blocking up the streets and aren't they blocking up the streets because Trump has deported 150,000 people. Didn't Obama deport like 3 million without due process nobody was writing then why this protest is fake.

In a city of millions, it's no exaggeration. Assaulting people in cars? I'm sure you have recent photos, right?

So the protesters are the scum if I'm getting you correctly?

Yep.

"
This is a real problem. Over a hundred protesters were hit by cars from Indiana to Tallahassee to Minneapolis at Black Lives Matter protests during the summer of 2020. In January 2021, an Iowa man avoided prison after intentionally driving through a group of peaceful racial justice protesters, injuring one. He told police at the time that protesters needed “an attitude adjustment.” Protesters being hit by vehicles has become such a wide-spread issue, a Wikipedia page sprang up to track the incidents.

The rhetorical and symbolic value of driver liability bills can be seen in the response on social media when they are introduced. Users, including members of law enforcement, circulate jokes, memes, and slogans about hitting protesters with vehicles. A Sheriff’s Deputy in Florida posted a meme depicting a semitruck smeared with blood with the caption “DROVE THROUGH ARIZONA/DIDN’T SEE ANY PROTESTERS.” Longtime Seattle detective Mike Brown was formally fired in February 2021 after it came to light that he had made multiple social media posts mocking and endorsing violence against racial justice protesters. Among the posts was a meme depicting a vehicle striking a person with the words “ALL LIVES SPLATTER” that Brown posted on the same day that two protesters were hit, one fatally, on Interstate 5 in Seattle."

Pigs… they keep making themselves the enemy of the people. They need an attitude adjustment.
