"Four San Francisco protesters hit by car in ‘possible intentional act’..."

Where are these people?

Would it be legal to accelerate and hit one or some of them?

If there are no injuries then it is a BS " hit by a car". I am sure one of the rioters told the police she was hit.

A few of them probably had BO, had an annoying laugh, or wore garish colors too. More than one had the sniffles. All of it is equally important.

If the intent was to injure people or if people were put at risk of injury due to his negligence, yeah.

If he was fleeing because he had a reasonable fear of injury to himself or death he's justified even if someone dies. That's an affirmative defense.

If you stand in the road with a gun and fire into the crowd and hit nobody, you have committed a crime.

If you see a group of people and accelerate on approach, yes, it is a crime.

He’s already been charged with reckless driving.

If you aim your car at people and they escape injury, the crime is assault with a deadly weapon, or aggravated assault, depending on what state you are in.

Why are you defending a would-be murderer?

You could only get attempted murder if you can prove intent to kill. You have to prove intent to injure for aggravated assault.

I assume he was charged with that because there's no evidence. Over charging and acquittal makes district attorney's look bad.

Show a video of the alleged incident.

If there is a crowd of people and someone barrels into them, there would be injuries. If on the other hand, a person slowly moves a car inch by inch trying to get through a crowd intentionally trying to block them, it is a completely different story. The facts matter.

I was just pointing out charged with reckless driving for criminal negligence even if nobody is hurt.

I would say this is a risky move, these unhinged tampons and the hired goons among them are paid to cause chaos all they need is a reason.

Trust me I get some great satisfaction watching deranged lunatics unemployed and have nothing to do get their instead karma, but I will not be the cosmic instrument of that karma.
