This is absolutely true. Don't blame Russia, we're the ones that cut them off, not vice versa. Biden shut off Russia without a Plan B. In fact he killed Plan B (i.e., Keystone, oil drilling) before he killed Plan A (i.e., cutting Russian imports). The American people were warned years ago about the fight over Keystone and other pipelines; leave them the **** alone. We need them! But the Green crowd is stubborn, stupid, and wrongheaded about everything, and they can't wait until something is truely marketable, sustainable (in the market), and available to the public at large. They're playing with the survival of a country at the expense of everyone else. Oil production is down in the US, I proved it yesterday on another thread with a government source. Funny I haven't seen any of these Green hypocrites stop using electricity until they're certain it's all green produced, and not from coal/gas/nuclear. Have they parked their gasoline fueled cars? NO.

Can oil company CEOs up their oil production with a phone call?

One worker is PO 'ed.

And 'don't blame Russia???? This is the US's fault, not the country that started a war in Europe, Russia?

LOL....LOL..

Wow.. Republicans siding with Russia yet again, just to 'own the libs'.. Limbaugh and the rest really did a brainwashing job on the Republican base.

The CEO's tell a different story. They said it is because they are focusing on rate of return for their investor by using their cash for stock buybacks rather than expanded production. What do they know they only run the oil companies and set the business plans.

"But in Colorado and beyond, large oil companies currently reporting their 2021 financial results and 2022 outlooks to shareholders are pledging to continue holding back on new productionas they prioritize positive cash flows and capital returns for investors."

yes .. yes ... Biden continues to blame others and doesn't take any accountability. He's the president of the united states, and continues to point fingers at others even after his decisions are lackluster, wrong and destructive. 80+ million people voted for him, and we are experiencing exactly what 75+ million forecasted.

We have less than 8 months to midterms ... looking forward to the results.

How was the oil from the keystone pipeline going to benefit america? Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't that pipeline a canadian venture to carry canadian oil to the gulf where it would be exported?

I did just get approval for my rooftop solar system and construction should start soon. What are you doing to help?

We make money off it for one thing. And that's not the only pipeline. Biden promised to rid us of oil use, so we wouldn't all die. It's a bullshit promise without substance BTW. But he's taken action on it in several ways. Shutting off public lands, which are substantial in size (another argument for another thread). Alaska pump 0.5M brl/day, when they use to pump 2M brl/day. Shutting off ANWR, and other places rich in energy. This obsession by the Left about fossil fuel is a psychosis.

And as events are proving, blame should be cast at Biden.
No, right square in the laps of the oil execs is where it should land. Unless of course you are advocating for the nationalization of the oil companies.

Disgruntled ex-employees always give honest assessments...

Should we bring back the ban on exporting oil?

No, we should be questioning the Biden administration's policies that left us more dependent on Russian energy than would otherwise be the case. (Update: and left us producing less domestic oil and gas than would otherwise be the case.)

LMAO.... That's quite the turnaround from all the promises the GOP and oil industry made when they were pushing to end the 40 year ban on US crude in 2015...

Are you that blind or just being obtuse? I vote for the latter, because no one could be that unaware of the 1 million people in the fossil fuel business. If I were you, I'd educate myself more and stop insulting the people that make your life a lot easier than it could be without them. Next time you adjust your thermostat with you white, uncallused hands, think about what it takes to make what happens, when you adjust that dial, happen.

Indeed. Biden and his administration have established a track record of attacking the petroleum industry, even during his campaign.

Alaska production at historic lows:

Likely capacity there to make up the Russia volume as well as probably some more.
  • The comments also come after the Biden administration last week began delaying decisions on new oil and gas leases after a federal judge blocked the administration from using higher climate change cost estimates when regulating polluting industries.
  • The ruling stems from President Biden's decision on his first day in office to restore the climate cost estimate to $51 per ton of carbon dioxide emissions, up from the $7 it was slashed to during the Trump administration.
Alaska ready to increase oil, gas production if Biden admin allows: Gov. Dunleavy
Dunleavy argues the US should be pushing for increased production of oil, natural gas amid tension overseas

It is Biden's policies of hostility to this industry which has placed the nation in this energy crisis. As if it were planned. It certainly was foreshadowed during his campaign.

Thanks Biden voters. This was predicted before the election.

Really? Tell us more.

The lobbying effort began in earnest two years ago.

Led by a handful of oil and energy companies — Hess Corp., Devon Energy, ConocoPhillips, Marathon and Continental Resources — and the American Petroleum Institute (API), the campaign generated hundreds of thousands of dollars in lobbying fees for K Street strategists. The companies, API and their allied lobbying coalition enlisted the help of at least 11 lobby and consulting firms in Washington to sell their message to Capitol Hill, the media and the public.

The firms on the bankroll include Forbes Tate, Harbinger Strategies, CGCN, FTI Consulting, Alston & Bird, Harlow Government Relations, Bluewater Strategies, Heather Podesta + Partners, Ogilvy Government Relations and Williams & Jensen, according to lobbying records. The lobbyists include at least three former aides to former House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), who in July came out in support of ending the ban; three former members of Congress; and a former aide to Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), who along with Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-S.D.) is credited for engineering the congressional push to repeal the ban.

Although the expected repeal is considered a win for API, which represents the U.S. oil and natural gas industry, the group itself was actually split on the issue because oil producers wanted to lift the ban, while many refiners did not.
Oil producers would benefit from ending the ban because it would give them access to a larger market to sell crude oil. But refiners, which convert crude oil into gasoline and other refined products and can already export refined products, would not because they now enjoy wide profit margins because of low oil prices and high consumer demand for gasoline.

The CEOs of 16 oil producers formed a single-issue lobbying coalition, PACE (Producers for American Crude Oil Exports), to focus all its energy on repealing the ban. The coalition hired lobbyist George Baker of Williams & Jensen to serve as the group’s executive director. It plans to disband once the export ban question is resolved.

Their early game plan was to court any and all lawmakers willing to take a meeting. They found an especially receptive audience in legislators representing states that produce energy — North Dakota, Texas, Alaska, Ohio and Pennsylvania — that had been hit hard by job losses in the energy sector. Their pitch to lawmakers was that ending the ban would help create more energy jobs and spur economic growth back home.

They came armed with data, citing government, industry and academic reports, including an analysis by the business research and consulting firm IHS, that projects potential job gains and tax revenue increases in every state and congressional district if the ban is lifted. Some studies were funded, in part, by the oil industry.
“Lifting the ban on U.S. crude oil exports would create American jobs, bolster the U.S. economy, and benefit consumers,” API president Jack Gerard wrote in a letter to congressional leaders Wednesday. “Lifting the ban would create 1 million jobs at its peak in 2018, and add $38 billion to our economy, and lower our trade deficit by $22 billion and our federal budget deficit by $1.4 billion in the coming years.”

PACE also commissioned a poll that found 69 percent of American voters support allowing U.S. oil producers to sell crude oil to customers in countries that are trading partners. Oil and energy industry executives, including Hess CEO John Hess, wrote op-eds in newspapers supporting a repeal.
In Congress, the needle began moving gradually, led by the North Dakota and Texas delegations. In January 2014, Murkowski, speaking at a event hosted by the Brookings Institution, became the first congressional Republican to call for a loosening of the ban.

Not unless you want to blame Biden for not issuing a DPA order to force more production.

Domestic oil output has been overall increasing since the Biden presidency began.

What percentage of oil produced in Alaska is EXPORTED? Does exporting Alaska crude oil benefit Americans? Did Governor Dunleavy include that little tidbit in his pitch?

I can't believe you believe a pipeline worker. Did you also believe them last time they reported only 210,000 gallons spilled onto America owned farms when it turned out to be double that? I know you don't care about the midwest "flyover" country but gosh darn it our natural aquifers are worth way more than any foreign pipeline and the treaties made with our Native Americans need to be kept.

But how convenient a "small government' conservative wants to back the big bad federal government to steal land and put corporations over farmers and American landowners.

It's actually caring more about those 1 million people to find alternative ideas for energy on the basic fact fossil fuel is not unlimited. If people didn't care, they'd actually be more like some people who just push more fossil fuels.

'Dont blame Russia' .... Why do you hate America??
And as been pointed out to you MANY times the Keystone line wouldn't have given the US a gallon of gas...
People here do educate you, but it doesn't do a damn bit of good... Your hatred of America is so great you refuse to learn...
