(Forbes) Trump Won’t Deny There Could Be A Recession—Warns Of ‘Period Of Transition’ In Economy

You mentioned global markets that makes you a globalist in the eyes of MAGA. They seem to believe that either USA can manufacture and sell to the rest of the world without alowing the rest of the world to sell to them or that they can have a thriving economy without any trade with the rest of the world at all.
I'm also a countiest. I fill up the tank in Carson City, which is 50c cheaper than Washoe County.

I'm a citiest, too. Sparks has cheaper restaurants than Reno.

And I'm also a neighborhoodist. The dispensary down the street is cheaper than the ones downtown.

It's globalists all the way down. We like lower costs. Since MAGA wants higher costs, perhaps we could bill them as any helpful compatriot would do.

So called business genius wants to pay more. My oh my.

Trump blurts out a Trump positive spin (lie) almost every time he answers a question. It's very telling that he didn't do his usual schtick for this particular question.
What should he have said?

Okay, the obvious question is what are we transitioning to? The next question is why? Does Trump give us any indications?
I'm interested in fleshing this out.
Spending less in government is a good ideal, but what does that mean to the overall economy? Has the government expenditures been propping up the economy overall?

Trump’s cult embraces fascism, not caring at all about its negative consequences. This is because they are such losers that they are already at rock bottom and get a nihilistic thrill at bringing everyone else down to their level.

If things keep going as they are, the "period of transition" will be of one from recession to depression.

Bro keeps talking about how much he loves the Gilded Age, he'll get what he wants.

This shows how disconnected the billionaire oligarchs operates. We must suffer for their vision of America.
Correct. As the economy stumbles and the stock market tanks, consumer confidence lags, and even some Trump voters are losing faith, what I find particularly revealing is how the Trump cabal are responding. They aren’t rethinking their policies; they aren’t even making major efforts to justify their policies to an increasingly skeptical public. Instead, they’ve instantly descended into a pit of insane conspiracy theories.

Thus, according to Mike Johnson, the speaker of the House, those rowdy audiences at town halls aren’t citizens sincerely concerned about government layoffs and looming cuts to Medicaid; they’re “paid protestors” hired by “George Soros-funded groups.”

What about those Tesla protests? According to Musk, they aren’t a response to his Nazi salutes and the chainsaw DOGE has been taking to crucial public services. In his mind they’re a conspiracy organized by five people, three of whom happen to be Jewish and two of whom happen to be dead:

And that big decline in the stock market? According to Trump, it’s not a response to concerns about his zigzagging tariff policies. “I think it is globalists that see how rich our country is going to be and they don't like it.” Yep, globalist Trump-haters have tanked a $48 trillion market.

If all of this sounds crazy, that’s because it is. What we’re hearing from the Musk-Trump Administration sounds, if I can use the term, distinctly un-American. It’s the kind of rhetoric you expect from an authoritarian regime that attributes every setback to sabotage by rootless cosmopolitan enemies of the state.

Your response to your Presidential choice causing a faltering economy is to hurl ad hominems at others?

It’s all that they have. It comes straight from the Trump playbook. It is all they really care about because they are the losers in society.

What should he have said?

"Tarriffs are ****ing stupid and I promise not to do them anymore" would be a nice change of pace. Of course you'd have to live in this dimension and not an alternate reality to have that take.

Also "Everything I'm letting Elon do with DOGE is ****ing stupid and we should un**** ourselves."

It is all part of the classic fascist playbook.

This morning on Fox News - the President did not rule-out the possibility of a Recession, and claims he does not pay attention to the Stock Market.

He predicts there will be a "Period of Transition".

I would respond,

"We've noticed!"
He'll get a big maga pass for it after they spent all their effort trying to convince the country that a good economy under Biden was a bad one.

Trump classic promise everything and deliver nothing. His cult following gets excited over it as if they were in on it. They are left holding the bag with ignorant grins on their faces.
