For ALL the Trump haters: you have nothing to offer instead!

Where did I say or imply that?

Then you have my answer, and the question on trusting Trump's wisdom on this still stands.

Speaking of, challenging everyone else to answer for something then running away from a question is a fairly poor showing on your part.

Nobody is debating the state of Russian economy. It's you who are not keeping up. Russia has no resources to manipulate American POTUS or any other American politician forget these stupid conspiracy theories !!!!

Then you admit to having no idea how oligarchy and centralized authoritarianism works.

There is plenty of Russian resources, just in the hands of the few and not for the benefit for the people of Russia, meaning they can do what they want with that including influence others.

Like Trump.

You're just BS-ing at this point. I have not run away from any question. I was asked for an alternative and gave one. In fact, if you weren't in such a rush to gainsay you might come to realize we are more in agreement on this issue than not.

Me asking you why we should trust Trump's wisdom was not necessarily me asking you to agree with Trump, you must realize that.

Ok, Everything is bad blah, blah, blah. Markets are down, prices are up. State employees are losing their jobs.
But it's time to awaken to reality: US has a huge public debt, and trade disbalance.
What is the simplest solution ? To sell m ore, to buy less. It's so easy to understand. Hence . Trump's tariffs.
Recently I briefly discussed the "disaster" with a friend , and asked him: If Trump's policy is all wrong, what can you offer instead ?
He responded with: "I don't know. And nobody knows. "
So , what globalists fan boys can offer ? What ? Start another proxy war ? Spend another 200 billions on Ukraine?
May be start a global war ? Nuclear War ?
You have nothing to offer dear whineres. Just to whine and whimper. To whimper and whine.
And obstruct road traffic with pathetic paid demonstrations.
For all the supporters of the malignant narcissist scumbag piece of shit liar grifter rapist seditionist felon serial adulterer and tax cheat all you have are excuses as to why he is such a miserable human being and worse president.

Do you know who comes up with simple solutions to complex problems?

Stupid failures.

Undermining the global economy seems better?

You remind me of the old one about the drunk who lost his car keys, and is looking for them by the light post because that's where the light is.

Well, that's what the 1st is all about.

You'll notice we never threw anyone out of the nation or got them fired for disagreeing with Biden's policies.

The US economy was doing fine at the end of President Biden's term in office. Yes, the US has a debt that should be paid down.
You asked what could be an alternative to President Trump's approach.

- Look at both the spending and the revenue side for the federal government
- in reducing the spending , 1. conduct a programmatic review of programs, not the slash/burn approach of DOGE. 2. involve Congress in reducing spending and programs that should be eliminated.
- On the revenue side. Look at taxes and other sources of potential income for the federal government.

Got a question for you. Explain to me how an Agency is to increase timber harvesting or oil/gas leases on federal land when the Agency has fired or RIF personnel who would carry out the work. The premise of do more with less does not work in many areas of managing natural resources.

What question do you believe I have not answered. Be specific.

Why should we have any faith that Trump's plan will bring back US manufacturing in a meaningful and sustainable way?

It's a Trumps approach in reduced scale. It's something , BIden administration could have done step by step in course of 4 years. Now Trump needs quick results in cutting financial gap.

increase taxes ? Interesting idea. Will it be comfortable for business to move production to US with increased taxes ?

The answer will probably be an automation of paperwork. Probably moving the bulk of the paperwork to Artificial Intelligence. With a super manger just busy clicking one button: Approve.

I always find it amusing when y’all cry ”globalist” but get all defensive when we say “billionaire”.

The Venn Diagram of “Globalist” and “Billionaire” is basically a circle.

But you do you.

It’s funny AF!

First, what do tariffs have to do with fixing the public debt, especially if they drive us into recession, which will reduce tax receipts and increase costs? The tariffs are effectively a huge tax increase with the incidence thereof place largely on those that can least afford. It is a regressive tax, inflationary and is/will slow the economy to a recession. They are dumb!

Second, why the issue with trade imbalance? If you have the largest economy in the world that generates wealth, you are going to have a trade imbalance --- you are going to buy from others more than they can buy from you. Of, a simpler example; I get a huge bonus from my employer .... I go to Las Vegas and spend half of it. I now have a trade imbalance with the City of Las Vegas, but had a good time. Should I be mad at Las Vegas from not paying me what I paid them? I made my money elsewhere and chose to spend some of it in Las Vegas. Trade imbalances are not good nor bad by definition, so unless you have a specific instance where it is bad, you shouldn't worry about them.

The tariffs solve no problems and create many. Get rid of them...

It was about $125B, most of it spent in the US. Because we acquired incredible intelligence about the ineptitude of the Russian military and significantly depleted it with a cost of a single American life, it might have been the most effective DoD spend ever.

May be start a global war ? Nuclear War ?

The free market works. A trade imbalance doesn’t mean you are getting ripped off.

I imagine most of the anti Trump people just don't want the idiocy he's unleashed to happen. I mean, there doesn't have to be some other glorious alternative, since this is like burning someone's house down. The most immediate alternative plan is not burning the house down. This whole tariff fiasco is an invention of Donnie Boy and his band of idiots, because there was no impeding threat or economic malady due to trade. As for wars, it's not liberals/Democrats threatening Iran right now.

Exactly. Well stated.

The tariffs that are declared by Trump do two things: they shows the world what a tough guy Trump is, acting like a dictator instead of a president, and the tariffs are the lazy way to for him to push trade without working at it or without working with Congress. The man is a sloth.

He could have rolled up his sleeves and actually worked with other countries on his perceived trade issues, one by one, but that takes effort and negotiation. It also takes time and that would get in the way of his golf.

That’s one alternative, right along with not imposing the tariffs in the first place. The proverbial gun is not at anyone’s head here.

Exactly, focusing on those with the larger trading issues like China. He could have simultaneously held talks with the EU and other large trading partners to get a sense of what the atmosphere is to address trade issues before resorting to the nuclear option. Good negotiators know how to conduct these kind of talks and use the obvious leverage in a calculated manner; if one has to resort to threats, one has already failed at negotiation.

Yep . and all the libs media failed to explain ordinary Americans that they are on the good path. And their military "investments" are safe and safer then ever have been.
Yes just keep whining about all the 50 year old weapons we sent Ukraine while Trump destroys millions of American jobs so the billionaires don't have to pay taxes anymore. The Russians you love so much are getting $50 a barrel for oil and will go bankrupt this year thanks to Trump. No one will miss Russia either.
