Florida OKs school materials aimed at making students conservatives
Gov. Ron DeSantis repeatedly says he opposes indoctrination in schools. Yet his administration in early July approved materials from a conservative group that says it’s all about indoctrination and…www.orlandosentinel.com
Florida is moving to brainwash the youth, force feeding partisan political propaganda to children. It seems the CRT scare was more projection.
Anyone going to defend this?
Or left-wing governments forcing it on students.
Its authoritarianism, pure and simple.
I won’t defend it, but similarly valid complaints can be made for ‘educational’ material with the opposite political bias.
Dude? It's not a university at all. It offers no degrees, no certifications, nothing. It's just garbage.I am all for the concept of Prager U and fully understand it is not an accredited university.
Always a good sign when someone labels anti-racists and those who favor civil rights as "The Real Racists"It's concepts and teachers are a lot more in line with Conservative American than the bullshit, racist ideology of DEI, CRT, WOKE, LGBTQ, and ESG drivel...
You've got some spittle on the corner of your lip.If you are Leftist drone and actually applaud Kamala Harris' bullshit lies about the black history curriculum, then there is no reason for you to continue reading.
for example . . . ?
You have convinced yourself of what you wish to believe.Dude? It's not a university at all. It offers no degrees, no certifications, nothing. It's just garbage.
Always a good sign when someone labels anti-racists and those who favor civil rights as "The Real Racists"
By the way, am I supposed to be remotely surprised that an extreme hard-right propaganda entity is "more in line with Conservative American" [sic] than it is with the perspectives of the vast majority of Americans?
You've got some spittle on the corner of your lip.
Anyway: That little bit you quoted only shows the kind of snowjob Prager is trying to pull on you -- and for which you are falling. They don't have instructors, they have "presenters." It's not a school, it's a "registered nonprofit" -- as though that's some sort of achievement.Prager also makes it very clear that his goal is to indoctrinate people to his point of view. Ironically, Florida's law is theoretically supposed to outlaw all such indoctrination -- but apparently it's fine when it is right-wing bullshit.
Thanks for confirming all the points in my post.
I liked you better when your avatar suggested you were like Aritstotle and not like a rabid social justice warrior tilting against a small entity like Prager U.Dude? It's not a university at all. It offers no degrees, no certifications, nothing. It's just garbage.

Ah yes, the snarl words of the day.CRT or 1619 project material.
The facts have convinced me.You have convinced yourself of what you wish to believe.
The point is that "PragerU" tries to present itself as some sort of academic entity, but it isn't. I have no idea why you're good with that.We all know Prager U is not a university; there are no degrees; there are no teachers.
Bully for you, you broke the code.
Wow, you got something right! You get a cookie.Because you are a Leftist and think Prager U espouses everything you resent, it doesn't matter that others believe what it is preaching.
And what is, that, exactly? What does "woke" mean? What is the "LGBTQ agenda?" Are you okay with outing yourself as a racist homophobe? Or do you think you can avoid that merely by accusing someone else of being racist? What I do believe is that this country better stop focusing on WOKE believes, LGBTQ agendas, CRT garbage, and DEI concepts.
Meaning what? You expect Mexico to invade the US, because we legalized same-sex marriage? We had better start focusing on coming conflicts from foreign entities so we can be better prepared militarily and industrially because that is where the real fight is going to be.
The facts have convinced me.
The point is that "PragerU" tries to present itself as some sort of academic entity, but it isn't. I have no idea why you're good with that.
Wow, you got something right! You get a cookie.
Oh wait, you forgot the part about PU being an extreme right-wing indoctrination center. I have no idea why you think I'd be good with that being foisted on an educational system that, by law, is not supposed to indoctrinate kids.
And what is, that, exactly? What does "woke" mean? What is the "LGBTQ agenda?" Are you okay with outing yourself as a racist homophobe? Or do you think you can avoid that merely by accusing someone else of being racist?Oh wait, you forgot to add the Magic Guilt Erasing Words: "I'm not a racist, but...."
Meaning what? You expect Mexico to invade the US, because we legalized same-sex marriage?
Then send your kids to a private or religious school or homeschool.I would rather be indoctrinated by a Conservative promoting conservative ideals than by WOKE activists poisoning the minds of children and weak-minded Progressives.
Yes, I would like for every concerned parent to take the money allocated for inadequate public school education and give it to a charter or religious school. Then send your kids to a private or religious school or homeschool.
Nope. Use your own money. The money for public schools is for public schools. If you don't want to learn facts, actual history, what is taught in public schools, use your own money to teach your children BS.Yes, I would like for every concerned parent to take the money allocated for inadequate public school education and give it to a charter or religious school.
Damn the teachers unions and their incestuous relationships with Democratic lawmakers who will kowtow to the unions as they receive millions in member dues into their campaign coffers.
I applaud all state governors who understand the wisdom of chartering more private schools in order to escape the clutches of the teachers unions.Nope. Use your own money. The money for public schools is for public schools. If you don't want to learn facts, actual history, what is taught in public schools, use your own money to teach your children BS.
There's no wisdom there, just conservative and private/religious school owner pandering. Its all grifting that is going to bring down the education of the US far more than anything else. But that's how dictators and fascists control the population, make them ignorant, keep them undereducated.I applaud all state governors who understand the wisdom of chartering more private schools in order to escape the clutches of the teachers unions.
You're probably in favor of political corruption when it comes to shoveling union dues money into Democrat political coffers for the sake of perpetuating WOKE ideology.
That's why 31 state governors are promoting school choice.
Look at the list of states that want curb the extreme control over our public schools.
Where U.S. Governors Stand on School Choice – 2022
BY Ed Tarnowski and Marc LeBlond
Published Nov 15, 2022
36 states held gubernatorial elections, with 31 incumbent governors eligible to run for re-election and eight not eligible or not seeking reelection.
The results are in.
Our team of policy experts have poured over the winning candidates’ campaign websites, media hits and speech transcripts to gauge where each of them stands on school choice—specifically private educational choice policies, such as education savings accounts (ESAs), school vouchers and tax-credit scholarships.

2 wrongs don't make it rightWhy clutch your pearls when the pendulum swings in the other direction?
The irony, of course, is that both CRT and 1619 are fact-based and accurate, something that cannot be tolerated on the right. No one ever criticizes them with substance, because they can't.Ah yes, the snarl words of the day.
Critical Race Theory was developed by and for actual academics, working at actual universities. Its target is, again, university level. Anyone who tells you "they're teaching CRT in grade schools!!!" is full of shit.
As to 1619: That started out as a series of articles in the NYT; about half of the sections were written by actual academics working at actual universities. When it was turned into a book, most of the chapters were written by actual academics working at actual universities. When it was developed for school curriculums, it worked with the Pulitzer Center (name sound familiar at all)? When they put out a picture book, the main co-author was an award-winning author of children's books.
., Prager is just garbage.
Even John Birchers would be embarrassed with what has happened with the right. The ****ing john birchers have essentially been winning for quite some time and took over the GOP
So there are 31 states with dictators who want to help students escape the failure of America's public school system? There's no wisdom there, just conservative and private/religious school owner pandering. Its all grifting that is going to bring down the education of the US far more than anything else. But that's how dictators and fascists control the population, make them ignorant, keep them undereducated.
I haven't had a child in a public school for 60 years.Nope. Use your own money. The money for public schools is for public schools. If you don't want to learn facts, actual history, what is taught in public schools, use your own money to teach your children BS.
Those 31 states have Republicans in enough power that are all getting funding from those like the DeVos's.So there are 31 states with dictators who want to help students escape the failure of America's public school system?
That's quite a conspiracy, isnt it?
You should change your political affiliation to Progressive if you see nothing wrong with teachers unions having a firm grip on the failing public school system and control of millions of dollars of member dues being fed into Democrat political coffers.
You and millions of naive parents are being duped into believe their kids are receiving a valuable "free" education. You know our public school system is failing yet you can't see more and more students going to private/religious schools to get a better education with their taxpayer dollars.
You love union-political corruption.
