The only interest Trump has in 2016 is denying that the Russians were involved in the election so that he may have an excuse to lift the sanctions on Russia. He is working for Putin and that is Putin's #1 goal.

It seems like a valid presumption to me. I guess since neither one of us is Christopher Steele, then we both must be Jon Snow.

I'll freely admit I don't know.... I've always made it a point to never read the Steele Dossier or Wikileaks. It's not that I think either are unreliable... just that I can't independently prove their veracity. Plus, the Wikileaks stuff may well contain stolen information as well.

I'm pointing out that your description of the issues that Trump is trying to get investigated are not as you say.

The DNC/Hillary attempts to collect dirt with the help of a foreign government were not a "public/above board event".

Your contention that "he (Trump) has not previously shown any real interest in exposing actual corruption" is something that I don't think you can support...but I certainly welcome you trying.

This is not a deflection. This is a direct dispute with your contentions.

Yes, your question is regarding the president, but your rhetoric used to support your contention is either flawed or contrived. This is what I'm pointing out.

Furthermore...it's been said before and I'll certainly say it again...all of the factual evidence...all of the testimony...points to Trump's motivation being national security, avoidance of corruption and bringing previous corruption to justice. There has been zero evidence that any decision maker in this issue has done anything "to harm a political opponent". And the fact that Biden MIGHT end up as Trump's political opponent (certainly not a sure thing) does not mean he shouldn't be investigated for corruption.

So please...if you want to talk about what Trump is doing, be honest. Don't make **** up and don't spin the facts into something they are not.

While I appreciate Joe diGenova's confidence I'm pretty sure every one of his predictions so far have come up dry or otherwise been relegated to the dustbin of history. Back when Daryl Issa was running the oversight committee, and he kept parading “bombshell” witnesses in the Benghazi hearings, none of which dropped any actual bombs, it was Joe and Victoria who were the advance men. In one case, Victoria Toensing went on Fox on Sunday and claimed that the State Department was withholding documents from their “whistleblower”.

This was ricocheted all over the right wing trash blogs for the rest of the day, and had made it onto Fox by Monday morning.

On Monday, the State department announced that no such request had been made.

But the lie has already been planted in the minds of the right wing bobble heads.

This is just another example of the same play.

Alberto Gonzales was Attorney General back then.

Henry Waxman had just ferreted out the fact that much of the Bush White House had been doing much of its business and nearly all of its e-mail through third party servers, avoiding the Presidental Records Act. Rove and Cheney were the worst offenders.

This proved to be an issue in the Libby trial, as grand jury investigators kept coming up agaist erased and destroyed hard drives (there has been a wholesale purge when the story broke)

Of course, Gonzales had to resign, after he perjured himself before the Judiciary Committee.

Bill Barr does not have such scruples.

Now that Trump is about to get impeached, here comes the diversions. I've said this before. If perhaps charges are brought to who knows who, no jury especially in DC will ever convict a political opponent. We just don't do that in America. The charges will be drummed up anyway.
